The Stables Reviews

We were disappointed with the property, there was dog hair all over the floor, the sofa smelt of wet dog, the toilet seat didnt fit the toilet, the mirror was broken on the bathroom, dishes in the cupboards had to be cleaned before use, only one tray in the cover and holes in the bed linen. Would i return, no. I didn't feel that we got value for money. This property needs some TLC and a thorough clean.
Lovely quiet location, far enough away from busy roads or towns yet close enough to make use of the Scarborough area. Very comfortable accomodation and great for a small family. The kids really enjoyed the farm environment. Everything was very clean and the hot tub was a great bonus to have for extra relaxation.

Overall we were extremely happy with our stay, only had a couple of issues Toilet seat was little loose, and could do with a fan being provided Also with it being a dog friendly accommodation,we would of liked a area to let the dog out for exercise, that was enclosed

Lovely three nights stay, beautiful surroundings . Comfortable cottage.
Nice people, and in a good location! A little disappointed with the cleanliness, and lack of kitchencleaning equipment E.g. No mop to mop the floor if entering with muddy feet. Steve&Geta

I would highly recommend Rigg Head Farm. Our stay at The Stables was lovely. The owners are very pleasant and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. A great location which is peaceful and quiet and only 5min drive to Scarborough. We hope to return soon
Alison
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in The Stables Cottage, it was very clean and cosy and loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day trip to Scarborough and Filey. We would recommend to family and friends and definitely return in the future, thankyou for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.
Andrew
Wonderful time at the stables, everything we needed was there, the hosts went out of their way to make as enjoyable as possible, they even gave our rescue dog, the holiday of his life, great place to venture around that part of the country and coastal areas, will definitely be going there again.
Christopher

A fantastic little hidden gem. Clean tidy and comfortable x would recommend it and would love to return.
The Stables is a stunning 5 star cottage , set in beautiful countryside , but with easy access to the coast in the car. We loved the attention to detail in the cottage , with the decor and furnishings , and the very private luxurious hot tub ! The garden was great for our border collie to let off steam and perfect for relaxing after long days walking along the coast. A great find!
We had a lovely few days at The Stables. The location was great for access to the coast and to the Moors. I imagine this would be excellent for a young family
Thomas
Absolutely stunning place immaculate and tidy the views where breathtaking very welcoming and friendly I've already recommended your place to stay and thinking off booking again for this year or same time in 2024 we loved our stay and thank you again for an amazing holiday!
Not enough seating for 4 people, Ok for us as we only numbered two. Seems small issue, but not enough cutlery.Cottage for 4 has 4 knives, forks etc, only 6 beakers. No sharp knives.
Indiana
The Stables was clean, cosy and had all the facilities we needed. The hosts were great, location is perfect. A wonderful weeks holiday.
Andrew
Lovely cottage with all the basics we needed and a great base for exploring local attractions and beaches. The animals nearby were fun for the kids and for the adults the hot tub is lovely and secluded. We stayed with two under 5's for a short week.
This is a lovely cottage, the setting is perfect. So relaxing and the hot tub made the stay perfect!
Grahame
We really enjoyed our stay and nick and dteph were most welcoming. The only slight criticism is that during the hottest day of the year there was no freezer or even an ice box.
Kathryn
The property was lovely, clean and cosy. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub too. It was a nice touch to have the welcome supply of milk and teabags and a few other essentials in the cupboard. My only very small criticism would be that there could maybe be a few more items for food preparation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to others already.

Relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly hosts. Lovely cosy accommodation with a great hot tub. Rural but 10 minutes from Scarborough and lots of beaches, many dog friendly. Perfect holiday
Lovely stay, owners were very nice and brought a pony to see our granddaughter and puppies. Very relaxing in big hot tub.
The location is fantastic to visit the coastal towns and great for the local shops, pubs and chip shops
We loved our staycation at The Stables. Whilst holidaying in this country wouldn't normally be our first choice, our staycation, like many others are finding no doubt, was actually an eye opener as to what we have on our doorstep. The Stables was not only a great home from home, but the location was ideal. Perfectly placed for various visits during the day, and then when home, the surroundings of sheep, horses, chickens etc were fantastic distractions for our young son. We even lucked out on the weather. Glorious sunshine in late September. Perfect for sunbathing on the beach. A very pleasant and enjoyable stay for sure. And we would definitely consider returning.
It was a gorgeous stay, with very little in the terms of flaws. The view is incredible, and its perfect for a cosy little getaway. The hot tub is also a perfect size and comfortably fits four adults something you don't find often Our only comments were when we arrived, the dishwasher was still full with dirty pots from people before, so we had to remove these and wash everything before we could even make a cup of tea. The front door was also broken seemed to have dropped and we struggled to shut this properly every time we left the building. The bedroom upstairs could also do with some form of mirror, even a small one, as four people trying to get ready in one mirror downstairs is incredibly difficult. The bathroom, although gorgeous, is incredibly slippy underfoot once wet. Although none of this would deter us from staying again, i feel we would come more prepared next time bringing own glasses etc. There was only 3 bowls in the kitchen which made breakfast and dessert difficult. A beautiful stay on the whole.
A perfect family getaway, a great location to explore Scarborough and the surrounding areas. The cottage is amazing and a picturesque setting. Weve already booked again for next year.
Pamela
Loved our stay at the stables we had a great week its a beautiful accommodation and would definitely stay again.
Angela
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location to explore the east coast. Lovely and clean and we all loved the hot tub and the horses. Would definitely really recommend.
Lorraine
Lovely, clean, well presented property in a good location to explore the coast. Beds were surprisingly comfotable and decent pillows meant we all slept well. The hot tub was great, if a bit far from the cottage door on very cold November nights. We were disappointed that the garden area wasn't securely fenced in which one would expect from a 'dog friendly' property, meaning we had to walk our dog on the lead round the garden and ended up picking up other dogs poo!. Also a lack of pans & oven trays made things slightly difficult.
Hannah
We really enjoyed our stay at the stables. It was perfect for us, we wanted a cottage with a hot tub in the middle of no where so this was exactly what we wanted. The cottage itself was very modern but still had some old features. It was very spacious and clean. The hosts were friendly and on call if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend.
Michelle
The cottage is furnished to a high standard and in a convenient location for the ScarboroughWhitbyBridlington coastline. The hot tub is a great bonus. Walks available straight from the door with the dog. Friendly owners. We were very happy with our stay, thank you
Hannah
Absolutely fantastic break, lovely accommodation on fantastic grounds with the added bonus of the private hot tub. Myself and husband stayed with our 15mth old who loved feeding the owners horses. Looking forward to returning for another relaxing stay and trying out one of the other cottages on the grounds.
Absolutely loved staying at the stables. Lovely little cottage in the countryside, It was like a home away from home. Would really recommend to anyone staying in the area.
Pauline
Very nice cottage, clean, tidy with almost everything you could need. One drawback was there were no instructions about waste disposal, one bin liner for three people for one week was insufficient. We did not know what to do once the kitchen bin was full. Ive always found previous cottages that Ive stayed in had clear instructions as to waste and recycling.
Absolutely stunning property and location. The grounds and buildings looked exactly like the pictures, if not better. Inside The Stables also didnt disappoint. Clean and tidy and well presented to a high spec. The hot tub was a great feature, however, we didnt bring extra towels so had to use our bathroom towels. It definitely didnt stop us enjoying ourselves! Also please note theres no freezer so dont bring frozen goods. Lots of lovely space for cooking and plenty of fridge and cupboard space. Only a couple of things would make the property even better. Mirrors in the bedrooms or living area, as there was only one mirror in the bathroom which isnt ideal when there are 4 adults getting ready. Also no hand soap in the bathroom so add this to your shopping list. Overall this is a beautiful place to stay and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Already looking to book again later in the year.
