Kaitkyella Lodge Reviews

Rachel
We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge is in a prime location and even though its on a working farm its very peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub is an extra luxury and the views from it were amazing. The lodge itself was clean and tidy and nicely decorated. The only criticism I could give is that there isnt much storage space in the lodge. We went as a family of 4 and a dog for 5 nights and we didnt have enough space for clothing coatsshoes which can clutter the place up when staying.
Bethany
Upon arrival the place was tidy & clean, the location of the property is great. The owners were friendly. I had to message a couple of times and they responded nice & quick. The butchers on site was lovely ! The BBQ provided was a bonus & the hot tub was nice. The extra 50 charge to use the hot tub seems a little excessive considering the property was already 603 for an 3 night stay. Ive never experienced this to be an extra charge before, its usually all in. We did have trouble with the doors in the property, the bathroom door & bifolds were really difficult to open and close due to them sticking. Wish we were provided with more essentials e.g toilet paper, fresh towels, bin bags, washing up liquid & sugar. I also think some cleaning supplies would have been handy to keep the place clean, especially with us taking out 2 dogs & a baby. One of the sky light blinds wouldnt work which meant it was really bright when our baby was napping & early on a morning. the place was lovely and we enjoyed our stay but I personally think this place is a little over priced for what it is.
Oliver
Very happy with the stay, great location, very clean and very nice staff. Meat available to buy on site at very good prices. Highly recommend to couples. Will be staying again
We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge, beautiful location, close enough to Scarborough for everything we needed. The BBQ and hot tub were enjoyed but we found it unusual having to pay a hot tub supplement, not experienced that previously and usually covered in the accommodation price! Also, left hand bifold door was difficult to close and open due to sticking in the frame, and the same for the bathroom door. The rubbish facilities could also be improved, no recycling and no lid on the outside bin. I had to turn the bin upside down to protect the bags from rain. These are minor issues and certainly wouldn't stop us returning to the lodge.
Hello! we had a beautiful time at Stepney Hill Farm. a gorgeous lodge and a beautiful view. thank you for putting the meat we ordered in the fridge for when we arrived. thank you Robyn
We really enjoyed the fact it is on the farm and although it is a working farm we werent disturbed at all whilst we were there. Kids loved saying hello to the sheep and the pigs every morning and having all that space really gave us a premium feel to the short break we had. We enjoyed every second of it. We brought our Collie dog with us and I think she had a better time than us since she was originally from a farm. It was a pleasant experience and beat staying in a cramped caravan for a few days. Worth the extra dollar, I would definitely recommend staying here and would consider it myself again for sure. Thankyou
We got married here over the weekend and we couldnt have asked for anymore. The cottage was beautiful the views was out of this world. The owners was so accommodating. You dont need to leave the farm as they have a farm shopbutchers a bakery and a butty shop which is all top notch. We highly recommend it too everyone who enjoys all these things and just want to chill out looking at the views in the hot tub.
Jacqueline
Beautiful property hot tub wonderful. Could do with a freezer even if only in the fridge. Recommend the meat sold on the farm
Pauline
Lovely place only 2 things I didnt like the mattress was stained and didnt like to pay the extra 50 for the hot tub should be included in price as that was expensive. But lovely place
Charlotte
Cottage stay were fine, no problems occurred. Lovely hot tub and great area to explore. We did leave a couple of things at the cottage and asked the owner to post back to us and paid for the postage. The owner read the messages but completely ignored us and didnt reply and never posted our belongings either.
Andrew
Kaitkyella Lodge is a wonderful getaway,we love it and stayed many times. Peace and quiet mixed with the ability to get around easily. Views are fabulous from the back and the hot tub with the farm animals putting in an appearance from time to time. Could do with a wheely bin with a lid out the front to prevent any spills from wind. Well done to all for a great stay again, see you all again next year. Thankyou.
Wonderful property. so sorry we could not stay longer. hopefully we can go again.
Gillian
We just loved our stay here. It was so peaceful, and the property is so spacious, private and comfortable. The full wall of windows overlooking the valley give magical views. We enjoyed watching the proud Canada Geese parents, with their six little goslings, parading around the pond and the field. Also Moorhens with chicks. The garden is sheltered, but gets afternoon and evening sun. Perfect for a BBQ and a glass of wine. It's perfectly placed for exploring the East Coast, and so close to all the little coastal villages and towns. We had a different beach walk every day, for a week. Lots of pubs nearby, with great food, and friendly staff and customers. I shall be recommending to our friends!!
Overall a very nice cottage in a lovely setting, very well presented and as ... Overall a very nice cottage in a lovely setting, very well presented and as described except there is no fire, crockery could do with replacing but otherwise a very pleasant stay
Andrea
Cottage was lovely, cosy and comfy. I just felt it was lacking extra towels for the hot tub only having 2 for a week and sharing it with hot tub and shower especially when you have shower before hot tub and after, no robes or outside shoes again most I have visited supply these as walking through the property with wet feet. Lack of kitchen supplies, no welcome hamper which again first time I have had nothing, milk or bread would of been nice to keep us going. No spare bin bags and no instructions on where to place rubbish, only one bin outside but 2 recyclable inside? No hand soap in the bathroom but moisturiser? Upstairs remote blinds batteries not working in the remote control. 2 other controls on the fireside but nothing to say for what? Fire mentioned in description on Sykes info but no fire.
A great home and location. Hot tub was lovely, great views, butcher shop too was great. Everything you could ask for.
Property is situated in a lovely area , and the property itself is just perfect for a getaway especially if you go just as a couple . Will definitely be booking again .
Shirley
Kitchen area was not well equiped, ie no scissors and only 1 tea towel. More bathing towels are needed in light of the hot tub. Some hooks to hang coats would have been helpful. The hot tub was lovely and well maintained we did enjoy our stay and only point out these things in the hope of being helpful. Thank you.
Graham
It was a great cottage with a hot tub with fantastic views, because you are part of a farm they have a fantastic butchers the meats were high quality but the prices very cheap.
We love this lodge! Our second time staying and a perfect base. The hot tub views across the farm are beautiful and the property is set up in such a way it feel spacious in summer especially with the doors open into the outside area, but is also super cosy when the sun goes down and in the colder months our previous stay was October the buzz of activity on the farm and in the butchers across the yard is lovely but you wouldnt know it is there when your in the very private garden and hot tub. Youre in a very short drive of all the activities in Scarborough. We especially enjoyed Alpamere water park and a day in York but ventured out most nights to eat. We will be back again without doubt!
Beautiful lodge with a fantastic view! All amenities and great hot tub. The farm butchers was an added bonus and our daughter loved the visit from the cows every day lol. Good location to day trip from and the hosts were extremely friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again. Thank you very much!!!! A
Belinda
We have just returned from a very relaxing few days break. The cottage is just as described with stunning views. The hot tub is a very welcome after a the long walks we had been on. The farm is in a little way out of Scarborough itself, but can be walked to easily enough. We also walked down to the bus stop and hopped onto a bus to Robin hoods bay. All in all a very welcome relaxing break.
Enjoyable stay in a great location, nice & private too. The weather was fabulous which meant a lot of flies, not ideal but it is a farm after all. Would have liked more plates & cutlery etc so we didnt have to put dishwasher on every day.
Amanda
Absolutely loved our stay. Peaceful and private. Great location, perfect views from the hot tub
Maxine
The lodge was very spacious and comfortable for either a couple or a couple with a young family. It has most amenities there to provide for a couple or small family and GSH should the evenings get a bit chilly. The hot tub was a welcome relief after all our walking and the bed was super comfortable to sleep in too.
Beautiful location ,lovely accomadation and contact with owners excellent.
Ashleigh
Absolutely loved our stay here, Very clean and spacious. It has a stunning view from the hot tub. It has everything you need we didnt have any problems what so ever. We will 100 be returning.
If you want a chilled relaxing break, this is the place to go, and only 5 min drive from center if you want to venture out. Stunning place, views from hot tub are fantastic, spotlessly clean, everything provided. We will be returning
Ferdous
It was such a lovely place to stay, my partner enjoyed the hot tub view and we were pleased with how clean the house was definitely going to rebook again soon.
Lovely property although Was extremely cold when first arrived and no fire like advertised in the description and welcome book? ? But soon warmed up after first night. Hot tub views amazing, lovely to sit and look out to the countryside.
Beautiful location and very peaceful stay in a lovely cottage.
Michael
Thank you, the stay was fantastic. I would highly recommend for any couple or small family for a little relaxation time. The views are outstanding and the property is to the highest standard. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back in the near future. Thank you again..
Alison
A lovely place to relax. The property was really nicely done out. The hot tub was nice and had a beautiful view. Really enjoyed our stay.
Abigail
Our stay at the lodge was amazing! It is a beautiful property, fully kitted out and kept absolutely immaculate. We had the most comfortable and relaxing weekend possible, I cant wait to visit again!
Ghafur
It would be good to know that next door is used as a wedding venue. This can be very noisy with loud music and lots of people celebrating till late into the night. So if you were looking for a quiet break away, this can be quiet annoying. Also the hot tub is not aa private as it can be.
Andrew
A lovely lodge on the end of the Tea Rooms just next door. Everything you needed was provided, from Gas BBQ to Hot Tub and outside eating area with table and chairs. The large folding doors to the rear of the lodge enables you to extend the lounge area into the well kept private rear garden weather permitting
Beautiful cottage with amazing scenery, Great location and the tea rooms next door provided really lovely food we had a wonderful roast lunch and the breakfasts were very tasty. Staff were lovely. Butchers across the courtyard was handy for food and the bbq pack was good value. Some minor points Cottage wasnt 100 clean when we arrived as the floors felt dirty on our feet and the sofas and footstool in need of a good clean really comfy but looking quite stained. Cushions quite prickly due to feathers poking out. Kitchen ideally needs a freezer and bigger fridge as well as more worktop space to make it more usable as staying for a week we struggled for buying meals to keep us going as nowhere to store them and also needed more cooking space. Pint glasses would also be useful too for larger drinks as the ones provided were quite small. Farm is located on a road so traffic is noticeable and farm was noisy at times throughout the night. Welcome pack could do with more information about what to do in the area and also provide instructions on check out as we didnt know what to do about keys and bins etc but otherwise an absolutely beautiful place and would be happy to stay again one day.
Danielle
We loved our stay over bank holiday weekend the cottage and the views were amazing, especially from the hot tub which was ready to use on our arrival. Perfect location for us to explore Scarborough with our little boy just a short drive away. We even got to cuddle the lambs. Staff in the tea rooms very accommodating the farmer very friendly and welcoming. Would love to return!
Andrew
Absolutely loved the stay, highlight of the stay was the little lambs running through the yard. Views are incredible, already got friends and family looking to book!
