The Sheepfold At Kerry Hill Reviews

Jonathan
We stayed in Kerry Hill which was incredible. Really clean and the location was superb. The owners were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here. I wouldn't book through sykes again as I asked several times about extending our stay prior to us arriving and they didn't bother replying once. Awful service.
We had a lovely stay here as a couple with two little dogs. The location is great with amazing picturesque views from the accomodation and hot tub. The accomodation itself is great, it has everything you need for an unforgettable stay. The bed is comfy and the shower is good. A washing machine and dishwasher are a nice little bonus. On the first evening the hot tub wasn't getting up to temperature however the hosts were easily contactable and rectified the issue promptly. Our only criticism is that we didn't feel the hot tub was very private as the fences are quite short which resulted in people from the accomodation either side being able to look over the fence into the hot tub area. There are also areas on the floor in the accomodation which have been taped over with duck tape which need repairing. Overall a great place to stay with plenty of walks around and local amenities for a lovely break away.
Had a lovely relaxing week. All the things you need are in place. Beautiful accommodation, close to local services and a great base to explore from. Welcome basket is a very thoughtful touch. We loved it and the dog loved it. Hope to visit again.
Such a lovely peaceful place to stay. Very well equipped throughout and welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Secure garden for the pooches made us at ease and the view was lovely to look at with our morning coffee! It was honestly the most perfect place to get away and relax and we will visit again.
Amazing lodge and location. Has everything you need for a couple and dogs. We loved the hot tub after long walks and the enclosed garden was great for our 2 golden retrievers. Will be back!
Beautiful property in a stunning location. Very comfortable and well equipped. Would definitely recommend.
Kerry hill is a gorgeous property, very clean and a secure garden for the dog, ... Kerry hill is a gorgeous property, very clean and a secure garden for the dog, would highly recommend for a relaxing hot tub break
Fabulous location and easy to find. Garden was great for the dogs. Bed was comfortable, kitchen well equipped and the hot tub was just what was needed at the end of the day. Would definately recommend and we will be returning
This was our second stay this year with my wife an dogs the A frame is beautiful theres woundful views how ever I feel there could be canopy over the hot tub in rainy days an bigger sofa to have good cwtch on! It always needs sealing on the main doors on sill above it i checked it over could see there wasnt a good seal there simple fix really as water was running in an down the glass inside the a frame, hope this helps to get it fixed! We would 100 be back lovely place an the A frame is stunning

What a perfect hottub break! In fact, the best weve had. We couldnt have asked for a more relaxing, peaceful time to celebrate hubbys 60th birthday away from all the hustle and bustle of life. The accommodation was just right and so dogfriendly their safe play area was such a boon. The hosts really have thought of everything. Heartfelt thanks. I will be booking again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay lovely setting, very relaxing and plenty of outside space for the dogs to run around.
Perfect place for a romantic getaway, if peace and quiet is what you want. Hot tub was amazing.
Fabulous place . Very clean . Very well equipped kitchen. Everything you could need. Thoughtful little extras. Lovely welcome pack. Beautiful views. Hot tub. Nice & quiet but well within a short drive to interesting places. Very helpful hosts.
Laurence
Wales, youve been amazing!
Regina
Absolutely beautiful lodge with unspoilt views in a quiet location. Hot tub was so relaxing and a lovely touch with 2 prosecco glasses and towels supplied. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. The only thing I think it would benefit from is airconditioning or a fan as when we stayed here it was 32 degrees. We couldn't open any windows due to the amount flies coming into the property. This is of no fault to the owners, as you don't often get these temperatures in Wales. Overall it was a lovely relaxing stay.
Lovely short break, great for couples and for quietness. The accommodation was very clean and had all you need for your stay, bed was very comfortable and hot tub was lovely with great views. There are a few little maintenance issues that need touching up such as flooring in places but expected as a holiday home. There are some lovely places for walking in the area so do explore such as Elan Valley.
Amanda
We have just come back from 4 nights at The Sheepfold, and I can honestly say I didnt want to leave. We will definitely be back again next year, if not later on this year. The lodge was spotless with real attention to detail. The atmosphere and views were breathtaking. Our Labrador loved the size of the secure garden. It really is a beautiful place to stay.
Jasmine
Having returned from The Sheepfold only today, we have already rebooked in a larger lodge to bring friends with us later this year! An incredible space with everything you could possibly need, along with touches of luxury. Everything is so well thought out particularly the little welcome hamper with menus for local takeaways and dog treats which our boy was very thankful for! Dont hesitate to bookany property at The Sheepfold is bound to be thoroughly worthwhile!
We had a lovely stay. Our main reason we chose Kerry hill was for our dog on firework night .. she is terrified of them and we usually have to sedate her We got this stay for a great price and was perfect for us especially now we have a little one 10 months at the time of the stay. We had everything we needed. Aldi and tesco is just a 6min drive for any essential items nappies and wipes for us!! we had a takeaway first night which was lovely leaflets recommendations in accommodation made it easy to choose the town is a short 10min drive max where we had a few lunches out at some lovely pubs recommended at the accommodation. Cot bed, highchair and baby bath supplied were perfect! We found three lovely pram friendly dog walks close by and also a soft play called Quackers where we had lots of fun after a long dog walk. We only heard a couple of fireworks on the 5th but were in the distance so our dog only reacted slightly for 30mins max and they were not very loud at all. so overall a great peaceful holiday for her! Faye!

Kerri Hill Lodge at the Sheepfold really was an amazing place to stay while exploring this area. Couldnt fault anything, comfortable bed, great shower, everything you need in a kitchen and a hot tub to relax in after a day out exploring. Enclosed garden was perfect for our 2 dogs. A lot of thought and care has been taken with these lodges, wouldnt hesitate to book again if we return to mid Wales.
Patrick
Overall this was a beautiful lodge in equally beautiful surroundings. Very well positioned for lits of days out. A few negative points. As mentioned in other reviews, the gates between the lodges are fairly low with open top sections so this did cause a few problems between ours and neighbouring dogs. The hot tub only had a privacy screen from one side so we didnt feel secluded and were overlooked by our neighbours. The hot water could do with knocking down a few degrees on the boiler as it nearly scalded our hands! One toilet roll isnt enough for two people on a three night stay. Plenty of positives though, the enclosed garden space is fantastic, our dogs had loads of room to play around in, the property was very clean and had all the amenities inside we couldve asked for and the welcome pack for both humans and dogs was enjoyed by us all!
Lovely property, very peaceful setting will Book again
Elizabeth
Restore, refresh and relax! We had a lovely stay at this stunning property, we were stunned on arrival! It is peaceful but still close enough to lots of wonderful places like Elan Valley, Hafren forest and you can get to the beach in an hour. The hot tub is fab, the secure garden is great for the dogs amd everything you should need is provided for you, even with a little welcome gift for us and the dogs! Thank you for having us, we will be back!
The property was great, had everything you needed. The only points we would make as dog owners is that the gates in the side fences should be solid and the same height as the fence as our dog and the ones to our side tried to get at each other through the open slats. In the property itself the only thing we could have had more of was hooks for towelsclothes in the bathroom and bedroom. Overall a fantastic property and would recommend.
Theresa
Myself, my husband & our two dogs had the most amazing time staying at this beautiful lodge. Everything was perfect the view was stunning, it was well equipped, spotlessly clean, lovely touches with the towels & plastics cups ready for the jacuzzi, welcome pack & a dog bowl ready for the dogs as soon as we arrived, the jacuzzi was an added bonus! The owners were absolutely lovely! We spent our time going on lovely long walks, pub lunches and dinners, chilling in the hot tub enjoying the views & cosy evenings in the lodge. The dogs absolutely loved the big garden that was very secure. We hope to be back! Thanks again!
Angelo
Needed a getaway from work and people With my partner and my two little poochies. For me it ticked every box that I needed. Nice warm modern farm style house everything clean and well built, plug sockets were plenty! Hot tub worked perfectly! Llandrindod Wells lake isnt far away and also adds to the experience.
We had an amazing stay here, it was lovely and clean and great amount of space for the dog! The area was lovely and peaceful with plenty of walks nearby. The facilities were great, but it wouldve been handy to have oil for cooking and salt available as the shaker was empty.
These are unusual lodges with all you need. We stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday. It was clean, the furniture is comfy, there is enough in the cupboards to make your own food, it was warm and located on a beautiful hillside with a fabulous view. There are several things to do nearby and our time was filled with cycling, walking, red kite viewing and eating ice cream! There is a handy local pub, but check the opening times as it was closed on bank holiday Monday. Overall this accommodation is simple, yet smart. It has all you need and is beautifully done. We hope to return.
The place was absolutely lovely, nice welcome pack left for us & the dog, good sized secure garden, one of the best gardens yet. Very quiet area, the owners kept in touch by text as they had their hands full with lambing. Good pub 1 mile up the road. Great hot tub, welcome relief after a day's adventure. Already recommended to friends & family. Thanks for a lovely week. Tracy, Joy & Gus.
We have just got back from an amazing week at the sheepfold. Very private lodges, there is only 4 on site but we wouldnt have even known anyone was in them if we hadnt of seen the cars. Cleanliness was amazing especially to say how high the ceiling is! Bed was the comfiest Ive ever slept in. Hot tub amazing and also one of the best. Our pooch Luna loved the secure garden and was nice for us to be able to let her out knowing she was secure. Greens taxi were amazing and took our dog if you do need one and recommend the food at the crown in which is about a 10 min drive we used the taxi. Was lovely that the owner popped in when we first got there to say hello. And the treats left for us and our dog were unexpected and amazing. Only thing we would recommend is to maybe do a welcome pack but not having one didnt impact our stay. Would love to come and stay again
Louise
What a fantastic property in a great location! Weve just got back from an amazing weekend at Kerry Hill its a perfect little dogfriendly property central to some picturesque nearby walks. The property is beautifully designed, very well maintained and in a lovely quiet area an ideal location for some rest and relaxation! The property itself has everything you need and the gift basket which included dog treats was such a lovely personal touch. Well definitely be back!
Amazing property in the rural surroundings, have recommended to work colleagues and friends already. Modern facilities and hot tub was amazing with countryside views! Hope we can stay again
Stephanie
We had a wonderful weeks at Kerry Hill with our two dogs. The facilities were of the highest standard, and the lodge was warm and comfortable the bed is so cosy! The hot tub is brilliant and very private. TV and WiFi connectivity was 1010. We enjoyed a quiet winter break to rest, relax and recharge. It was fantastic. We will be back!
Superb property! Bright, luxurious and sparkling clean. A real treat from start to finish! Hot tub was fabulous and house had everything needed to make the stay perfect. Surrounding area is stunningly beautiful, amazing walks within a short drive and local main stream stores as well as independents in easy reach. Looking forward to our next visit already!
Lovely place in a nice quiet village, with really friendly people. Facilities exactly as described, and loved the fact one of the owners popped over to see we had everything we needed. One area of opportunity which didnt hugely impact on us but may for other guests was the cleanliness, with some trimsledges in need of dusting and marks on cupboard doorsshower. This wouldnt stop us recommending or indeed visiting again.
Victoria
We had a 7 night stay with our 2 dogs in tow. Kerry Hill is beautifully decorated lodge, set in a great location. One of 4 on site, all very private from each other and in a small complex off a quite country road with stunning views. The garden is perfectly secure our dogs aren't small and 1 can seriously jump, but never worried about them getting out. The lodge itself was well furnished with plenty of home comforts and well stocked with quality kitchen gear for if you fancy a cook up too. Some lovely touches, welcome basket with some treats for us and the pups! Towels for the hottub and bathroom, washing up stuff, dishwasher tabs, washing tabs all provided. Met the owner a couple of times, very friendly and happy to give recommendations nearby. Out and about we did both Elan Lakes and Devil's Bridge both are amazing. But the lake down in Llandrindod is beautiful and very close too. Didn't head to the local pub, but sussed it out in case we did, just short of a mile away and only a very short part of that is without pavements, so easily walkable. We had an amazing time, perfect recharge before Christmas, will hopefully be back!
Bethany
Brilliant weeks stay! Very clean, very friendly, loved the hot tub and the added extras we got given dog enjoyed the treats I would 100 recommend anyone booking a holiday here! Will definitely be back in the future, thanks for an amazing stay
Couldn't recommend Kerry Hill at The Sheepfold enough. the lodge was excellent and the area surrounding was perfect for us and the dog. We will be returning!
Harley
Probably the best holiday property weve ever stayed in! The location was amazing, the furniture was actually comfortable and the garden was secure and large for our two pugs. Loved our stay. Would highly recommend for a long or short stay. Lots of places in Llandrindod Wells 5 mins away to eat in and takeaway.
