Pengwern Reviews

Fantastic property in a great location! Easy access to all local places of interest. Stunning walks, peaceful location and a brilliant base to holiday from whether venturing out or cosy nights in. Absolutely recommend and would return.
Pengwern was a perfect place for us to spend a family weekend for a milestone celebration . The kitchen was very well equipped and the square plates made the food look great .The big dining table and views from that room were amazing .We found the lounge very cosy in the evenings .The bathrobes were a very nice touch and the views from the hot tub were lovely .The games room was well used also .All bedrooms were spacious and comfortable .We liked the fact we could go off for a walk from the property .As a family we felt that pengwern offered us everything we needed .
We all had a wonderful holiday staying at Pengwern. The house is beautifully furnished and has everything you would need, comfortable beds and great facilities. As a family we all took full advantage of the hot tub and the games room which was a great addition and we thoroughly enjoyed. There are lots to do around the area and this is literally a 15 minute walk into Llanrwst which you can do by the main road or over the field by the river which is very picturesque. My 80 year old parents also did this short walk several time's, which tells you how close it is. You could drive it in less than 5 minutes and there are various small supermarkets, as well as two wonderful butchers and a bakers in Llanrwst. We had a lovely bbq one night on the Webber bbq also provided. We will 100 be back, one of the nicest places we have stayed at and the owners were super helpful, friendly and easy to deal with.
A lovely holiday cottage in a picturesque setting. Easy check in instructions. Hot tub enjoyed after a long day, plus the games area. Surprised by the lack of essential condiments also. Never not been to a holiday rental that didnt leave out a small offering of oil teabags sugar. There were 4 coffee pods and saltpepper. But our biggest shock was ZERO washing powderpods. Just the bare minimum to get us through a day or so would have been the norm and so welcome. So yes a nice cottage. But no milk. No washing powder. Just be warned. Its a fair drive to anywhere after a long day of driving to reach ones destination.
Absolutely stunning property. Lovely location. They only downside is the early checkout time. Even an hour later would make things easier.
Fantastic property. Everything you need is there. Lovely views. The tob hub was a bonus, it was used numerous times. Nice walk along river into the town was on the doorstep. Highly recommend this property!
Yvonne
A beautiful house with beautiful views. Definitely a 5 star property. Games room was an excellent feature for the whole family to enjoy. Hot tub, BBQ and laundry room also provided. A spacious, spotless house with everything you need for a fabulous holiday. Plenty of parking space in the house grounds.
Joanne
Lovely stay, great location. Lots of amenities, kitchen equipment and a welcome pack. Owner also checked everything was ok. Would stay again
We love this property. Great for all the family to get together. Owners excellent too. Stunning views and great location for lots of local activities.
We booked this place for my father in laws 70th birthday. It did not disappoint! The Kitchen and dining area were well used during our stay. It was an extremely warm and roomy house where we could all disperse and have our own quiet time if we wished. We all agreed that the Hot Tub was the best feature. The views and absolute quiet were amazing. Great to relax and unwind. One day we may well return... We would definitely recommend booking for that special event.

From the moment you stepped into the property you felt at home, we were a family of 10 plus a dog and the house was spacious enough for us all. The decor of house was lovely, it was so in character with the property We were a family of 3 generations who where there to celebrate a 70th birthday. The games room and hot tub was well used by the younger ones. The welcome tray of goodies was a lovely touch and very appreciated by us all. The views from the house were just amazing it was lovely to get up to them every day. Thank you for sharing your lovely house with us. We would definitely recommend the property to family and friends.
On the whole a very comfortable visit with great space for 10 people. Downstairs shower needs updating as the shower pressure was quite low. Also lighting could be improved there as the three pull switch often misbehaved. Very tiny TVs in the two bedrooms. However, great TVs in the main lounge and kitchen . Lovely setting and very easy to reach all types of ctivity.
Rebecca
The property was amazing and was set in such a beautiful place. It was well equipped, comfortable and generally lovely. We loved the walks straight from the door and the local areas were beautiful.
We can not fault the house at all everything was beautiful the beds were comfy. The location stunning. 1010

We had a fantastic stay. We were celebrating my birthday and retirement so wanted a family get together. Unfortunately my daughter and family couldnt stay the weekend but managed the meal we prepared for nine of us on the Saturday night. Loads of pansutensilscrockery etc and the beautiful dining table to seat us all in comfort. The games room and hot tub went down a storm. After the Sunday it was just the two of us but the comfort and cosy evenings in front of the log burner were amazing. The bed was so cosy and the view, watching ewes and lambs was a real treat. The forest trails are just across the road so no need for the car. Coming across the waterfalls and streams were wonderful. Caught the train to Llandudno, great service on super clean train Didnt realise there were 2 stations in Llanwrst Another day caught the bus to Conwy. Bus stop at the end of the road passing the peacocks at the castle on the way. I could go on and on I always know when weve had a great holiday as we dont want to go home. Thank you to Teleri and Philip for the great stay.
Thomas
Very happy with stay for second time thanks
Pretty much the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. The sort of place where you could hold Christmas and rely on having everything you need equipment, beautiful spaces and comfort. Thank you x
Louise
A wonderful spacious property in a great location. Great facilities. Even included bath robes for the hot tub!
A fantastic home which is perfectly located. A wonderful base for our intergenerational holiday. Would highly recommend. We absolutely loved it. The kitchendiningfamily area was perfect and where we spent the bulk of our time.
Beautiful property in a stunning location
Great stay for the family for my mother in laws 80th birthday celebrations. The property was perfect and exactly as seen on the pictures. The views of the countryside whilst having breakfast and dinner were excellent as were the wider facilities of the games room and hot tub. Teleri was very helpful, checking in with us on arrival and before departure to make sure everything had been good. Easy walk into Llanwrst or 5 minute drive to the local supermarket if needed with a slightly longer 10 minute drive into Betws Y Coed. Several longer walks right outside the cottage and Capel Curig not too far away either. All in all, a fantastic stay, in a beautiful home, which made the birthday celebrations perfect.
Shannon
Honestly, it was a perfect holiday! The house was absolutely gorgeous, perfect size for 10 people and a dog, the location was stunning, and the hot tub and games room were the icing on the cake, they were used everyday! All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and all hope to come back one day. The beds were extremely comfortable one of the best I've ever stayed in, most of us found ourselves in the conservatorydining area most days as the chairs are comfortable and the views are amazing. One thing we appreciate on holiday is not being bothered by the owners, and Teleri was fantastic for this. She dropped by on the second day and the departure day just to check everything was okay, you could text her if we needed anything, and she came by everyday to refill and clean the hot tub, but was not intrusive at all, she was fab! The sofa's were okay comfort wise, but that can be a preference thing, and it wouldn't stop us from coming back, but overall plenty of seating around the house. The fire was also amazing, used it everyday, and there was plenty of wood supplied in the barn for a small fee! Overall, we couldn't praise this house enough and cannot wait until we are able to book again!
Great house, had a brilliant time. Good size for 5 couples, lots of local activities to do, plenty of space, and games room and jacuzzi were great !! Brilliant long weekend away
We stayed over Christmas and it was the perfect place , had everything you needed for adults and children . We loved it
We have just returned from a magical early Christmas weekend away with friends, the house is gorgeous, its decorated and presented to such a high standard. I cannot speak highly enough of Pengwern, you can tell the quality, thought and love has been given to this beautiful house. The hosts were amazing, and nothing was too much trouble. Such a wellequipped and maintained, amazing fivestar accommodation. Thank you for our stay, we all loved it and will be returning in the near future. Sue Davies
A stunning property in a fantastic location. We spent a brilliant week here as a family get together and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time here. Set within easy walking distance to the lovely town of Llanwurst with a great choice of pubs. The hosts were very nice and helpful and kept an eye on the hot tub maintenance each day. Betws y coed is well worth a visit and can be walked from the door over the forest path and a train back if preferred. Games room was a nice touch and a bit of fun. I would definitely recommend this place and hopefully will come back too.
Abigail
Brilliant house, lots of space, very well maintained. Lovely location! We felt some pressure to be out of the house before 10am despite checkout being at 10am and there were a couple of occasions the hot tub was checkedchlorine added but communication wasnt clear, it would have been nice to have a clear understanding of whether we needed to stay away and for how long for, each time.
Beautiful property with excellent facilities, the only improvement i can suggest is having towellng robes available for when using the hot tub. have stayed in other properties where there is a hot tub and robes and slippers were provided but loved the house and the surrounding area would well recommend
Lovely house very well looked after with all facilities and an amazing location. Thank you to Teleri for being so accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions.
Absolutely loved this holiday home shared with family of 3 generations with something for everyone. Very clean, very cosy, stunning views and so well equipped. We had wonderful weather so we were able to get out and about but could have easily stayed at home all day and enjoyed the facilities. Lots of wonderful walks right from the doorstep too!
Patricia
Fantastic house with great facilities for our family get together. If you like outdoor activities this is the perfect location. Loved our stay here and would recommend unconditionally.
Barbara
The property was amazing. Beautifully clean and well equipped. Lots of comfortable furnishings. The children loved the games room and garden. I have already highly recommended to friends
Alison
We stayed in this property in July. We were very lucky with the weather but felt even luckier with the property. It was superb and totally exceeded our expectations. It was tastefully decorated and was extremely comfortable. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and games room. It's ideally located for walks and local attractions. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday and we would definitely love to stay again.
Louise
We had an amazing stay at Pengwern Farmhouse the owners made us feel very welcome. Having stayed here 2 years ago before they had it we can see they have done a brilliant job upgrading the property & the interior decor is beautiful the whole house is very impressive, the views are simply stunning we never got tired of looking out across the countryside, the grounds, games room & hot tub are all a great added bonus. The property is in a prime location to get out & explore Llanwrst, Bwets y Coed, Trefriw, Conwy & Snowdonia we will most definitely be returning thank you so much for sharing your home.
Anthony
Fantastic property and great location. Highly recommended and would book again. Games room and hot tub a big hit with the family. Views from hot tub are terrific.
We had a fantastic week in this beautiful, immaculately presented house, thank you!
Only one thing missing blackout or blackout blind in the bedroom especial the down stairs one gets a very light at 4am
Jennifer
Absolutely lovely place to stay. The house has great views across the countryside, the decor in the house is lovely. All very fresh and spotlessly clean. The games room was great fun for all the family and the hot tub a real plus. Conveniently located for a walk into Llanrwst and a shirt drive to Betyws y Coed. We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend.
Myself and the group had a great time and made good use of the facilities. Excellent views and a good central point if you wanted to do walking, water sports or any other activities Would definitely rebook, very clean and had everything we needed. Would probably have bigger TVs in the rooms but apart from that all good!
