Millcott Reviews

Lovely cottage really quiet and idyllic highly recommended
Mystery of sharp knives solved they were all in the top of the dishwasher. Lovely upgrades since we last stayed Wonderful property in ideal location for either sight seeing or chilling A visit to RAF Coningsby is a must but go early
Jonathan
This was a lovely property, situated next to a larger property where the owner resides. Everything was clean and in order. There was milk and a lovely cake to welcome us and the kitchen was well equipped note the dishwasher has a top tray for cutlery! Bedding and towels were clean and of good quality. Shower took a short while to heat up but was lovely with a great flow. We met the owner, who warned us that the water was quite hot due to the heatwave a thoughtful and considerate piece of information. The conservatory was roasting hot so not usable in this weather but at certain times of year would be lovely. We didnt have need of the hot tub this holiday. Everything was well equipped. There were one or two minor improvements needed blinds in the conservatory and the door on one of wardrobes but on chatting with owner these are due to be seen quite soon. My friend who lives horses enjoyed seeing the owners horse on his stable and running in the field beyond. The gardens were beautifully kept. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely come again!
Robert
Well positioned for visiting RAF museums and Lincoln. Well equipped except for a total absence of sharp knives in the kitchen. A DVD player would have been nice for old style people like us who do not stream anything. It would avoid having to connect cables which could cause damage.
Gordon
A great little cottage in an idilic location. Throughly enjoyed our stay over Easter
Lovely cottage and very clean. We hadnt realised it was right next to such a busy road and as we're not used to hearing traffic noise at night it spoilt our stay. However no complaints about the cottage itself and the owner was very nice.
We have just finished a five week stay at Millcott, whilst undergoing house renovations. Millcott was the perfect choice and we would not hesitate to stay again. Alison the owner was very friendly and left out a welcome pack of milk, bread, butter, muffins etc. A wonderful touch which went down extremely well after arriving quite late in the evening, after a long day at work. The cottage very pretty, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything needed for our stay. The hot tub was also a welcome addition, which we spent many an evening making use of. Scopwick is a very pretty village and a perfect choice for a quiet, relaxing stay. There is also a lovely local pub which specialises in really tasty Greek food! We wouldnt hesitate to recommend Millcott and very much enjoyed our stay!
Spacious two bedroom bungalow, once decorated and furnished to a high standard, but now lacks maintenance. The main bathroom had areas of mould, plaster live around door way,and needed a good clean and decoration.Other bathroom radiator very rusty and around the bath needed some attention.Grey towels left out had large bleach stains. The conservatory was too cold to eat in, a small electric heater made no impact, yes it was very cold during our stay, not really useable over cold weather.Dining chairs, one seat was broken and another not looking great.
Would stay again , lovely place . We couldnt ask for more . Lovely touches left for our arrival. Thank you so much
Debbie
Lovely, comfortable and welcoming host. Left us some lovely treats that were very much appreciated.
Isabel
We had a lovely time in this cottage. It was so cosy and the fact that both rooms had an ensuite was a bonus. It didnt lack anything and was spotless clean. Having an enclosed garden was great for the dog. Our only negative was in finding the cottage when we arrived as it was dark but everything else made up for it. Would certainly recommend to anyone. Alison was so pleasant and the welcome pack was appreciated. Definitely 10
Natasha
Lovely place to stay it was a really cold weekend but the property was lovely and toasty warm when we arrived. The welcome pack was very generous and much appreciated. Super quiet location would definitely recommend.
Christine
Great sized bedrooms and kitchen. Perfect for our needs. Road can get noisy. Great pub down the road The Royal Oak, great food and very friendly.
Stephen
We just come back from a lovely week in millcott Alison host greeted us with goodies. Even though we got there half hour earlier happy to let us get unpacked. Lovely views from garden very peaceful had everything we needed . The 1 negative is noise from road about 530 weekday morning but got used to it after a couple of days and slept ok as bed really comfy
Immaculate as ever on arrival We will be booking yet again next year ... Immaculate as ever on arrival We will be booking yet again next year perfect location for peace and quiet or well positioned for exploring the surrounding area

We have just returned home after spending a week in this gorgeous cottage. Aly the owner was so helpful and friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. A lovely welcome hamper of bread, butter, milk, crisps and cup cakes. The weather was perfect so we could eat in the garden every day, but the conservatory was also ideal to have our meals. Plenty of walks and the enclosed garden was ideal for our excitable Labrador. There are two bedrooms and as there were only us we chose the front bedroom, quite busy due to a road nearby being close but if Im being totally honest it didnt affect our sleep whatsoever. The hot tub was just what we needed after a long hot day. Will definitely be booking again. We wanted for nothing.
Alison was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Property was very private and provided an ideal base for us to explore, with nice walks for our dog Jess. Welcome pack was much appreciated, with essential items such as milk and bread. Very comfortable bed and chairs.

First night was fine, property was nice. Next day there was an infection of ants and flying ants, the owner lived door so we knocked on the door but no reply, there was ant repellent spays and powder under the sink so obviously knew about it but denied this after complaining. It became to much as there were hundreds so we came home a night early. I complained to sykes and asked for a refund for the 1 night we didn't say and they said no because I did not email the property owner for her to resolve it, what if she did t live door l? How could it be resolved then, she had a ring door bell that my husband pressed so she would of been aware that we came over. Not impressed with the customer service at all!!
Cottage was clean , comfortable and relaxing , everything we needed , with enclosed garden for dog. ample parking , nice quiet location , welcome pack on arrival , very thoughtful and kind , many thanks for our stay
Elizabeth
We had a lovely, relaxing time. The cottage was beautifully presented and very comfortable and the welcome pack an added bonus. It was so lovely to sit in the conservatory and in the beautiful garden and watch the swallows going in and out of the stables. Alison was very helpful and sorted a WiFi connection issue out straight away. Thank you.
A lovely couple of nights at this property. The place was comfortable amd warm with enclosed garden was ideal for the dogs. Seeing the horse from the stable on a morning delighted our toddler. Not far from nice walking routes and local villages for shops. The owners were really accommodating with a late notice booking too
Lovely accommodation. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet location. We will stay again if we happen to be in the area.
Gordon
This was our second stay at Millcott and we were not disappointed. Truly a lovely relaxing and well presented property. Just our personal experience best to use an oven glove when using the kettle otherwise you could get scaled.
Stanley
We just had our second stay at Millcott, It's clean and homely with a pleasant garden outlook. Alison the owner is a pleasant and helpful we hope to return again in the near future
This was the second time we have stayed here, and will stay again, cottage has all you need to have a wonderful break, great location, nice walks for our little friends, hot tub was lovely. Thanks again Alison we had a lovely time.
Very comfy and cosy despite the gas fire not working. More cooking utensils and smaller ovenproof dishes needed as I cooked for myself every day. Nice garden well used by my two greyhounds. Alison is lovely. It was great to see the horses poke their heads out of the stables!
Gordon
Locating this perfect holiday accommodation was just perfect, everything you needed for a pleasant stay. A great bonus on arriving early evening on a cold day to be greeted with the warmth of the cottage. This was a luxury and we immediately felt relaxed. Everything you needed was available. Alison was extremely pleasant and helpful accommodation clean, modern, comfortable and lovely soft towels. Yes it is rural which we wanted but access to town of Metheringham isnt far and has several shops, pubs, takeaways etc. Spoilt for choice. We will of course book again in the near future. Thank you Alison for a lovely relaxing stay. Kay & Gordon
Hilary
A lovely cottage very clean & warm , Allison the owner was lovely the cottage was plenty big enough for 4 people, all ground floor which made it good for my husband, good location, nice dog walks & the welcome pack was appreciated, will definitely return Hilary .
Barbara
Thanks for a lovely week and for our welcome pack of basics. Felt very at home xx
Kathryn
Millcott was everything we expected it to be. Comfortable, cosy and exceptionally clean. We loved Mr Ned, looking at us through his stable door. We would only say that due to it being November the conservatory was too cold for us to eat at the dining table, so maybe a heater of some sort could be positioned in there. Apart from that, it was perfect and for anyone staying there you won't be disappointed.
From the moment we arrived we wished we had booked for longer, there is ample parking, the cottage was clean, tidy and had everything we needed, great location, welcome pack on arrival lovely extra, Alison was the perfect host, the cottage has two bedrooms both with ensuite so would be an ideal stay for two couples. , would definitley stop again.
Nice spacious rooms and comfortable sofas and beds. Loved the hot tub. Great location for visiting Lincoln, Woodhall Spa, Horncastle with its many antique shops. Will definitely book to go again.
Roland
A beautiful property, in a nice location. A nice touch was the welcome pack of butter, milk, bread and cakes. The owner was very pleasant, but not intrusive. Would happily return.
Ursula
Enjoyed our stay Millcott, warm and comfortable. Owner very obliging and dealt with queries promptly. Nothing was too much trouble. Would stay there again.
Beautiful well maintained property, it had everything we needed, friendly owner, we had a great week.
Really comfortable stay. Lovely comfy beds & great facilities. Surprised not to find a cafetier... only thing I missed. Lovely bonus for me was being near to horses!. Hosts very friendly. Nice walk around the fields & footpaths & great for travelling to both the coast and Lincoln.
Third time at the property excellent in every aspect again
Pauline
We had a lovely time at Millcott. Cottage was lovely and well presented. Owner was very pleasant and sorted out a few issues we had promptly. Only drawback was the proximity of the road, which was only a few feet from my bedroom windows. So took a while to get to sleep. Beds were very comfortable so once asleep slept well.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay, will definitely be returning! The owner Alison was lovely.
Tarnya
Loved our stay here. Quiet and peaceful setting. Owner friendly. responsive and attentive. Facilities great, everything needed to self cater, dish washer and washing machine appreciated. Hot tub a delight to sit under the stars at night. Great pubs near with good food and drink. I would definately recommend.
