Telford Lodge Reviews

Can't believe Sykes lists this property on their website. Calling it Quirky doesnt make up for lack of maintenance. Whilst on holiday I read the review from August which had gone up on the website and how correct it was. I was warned by the owner the day before we arrived that there were problems with the sockets downstairs, but not to worry there were so many sockets that it isn't a problem. Well, it is if you don't mark which sockets don't work and you trip half the fuse box when you try to use one. Luckily the padlocked wooden box around the fuse box is constructed as well as the rest of the property and easily removed to switch the electrics back on. As for the rest of the previous review, I can only agree with what was written. No hoover, no broom, no mop, no brush for the dustpan so that we could do any cleaning up after ourselves. The radiators remain on even after turning the heating off, so you must turn them off, assuming there is a valve to do so. The lights in the main bedroom worked once, the tv in that bedroom has had the power cable ripped out of the back of it. Bedding looks tired and in need of a refresh. Hot Tub looked clean until you sat in it and felt like there was sand in it. The games room would have been good if we knew we needed to bring 50p for the pool table. But even then, there is too much around the table to use it properly. Overall, the property has potential, but it needs work and if that means not renting it out for a couple of months than that needs to happen. A deep clean, a proper fix of the electrics and fixing of the little problems cupboard handle coming off etc. would do this place a world of good.
Dirty, sticky disgusting dining table, side breakfast bar. We had to buy table cloth so to b able to use it. Half the house has no working plug sockets, living room has an extention cable with all plugs behind TV running out the window and into garage? No pat tested plugs anywhere?. Cobwebs and dust everywhere. Dirty mattresses and quilts, dirty greasy, melted plastic utensils, and broken utensils and no t spoons that were any gd, we went out and bought new. Vile smell in kitchen turned out to be a stinking rotten dish cloth and t towel left on drainer, cupboards and drawers are broken, need replacing, and smell musty. Freezer was unusable as frozen solid we defrosted it enuff to use it a little, but froze again as door don't close properly. There's no handle on front door just a twisted piece of metal, which I cut my finger on. There's no cleaning items, i.e., broom, mop. There's a dustpan but no brush?. There was 1 t towel which was rotten, again we bought new. The shower works intermittently, scolded my neice and burnt her foot, and I had a cold shower. Heating comes on in living room and upstairs hallway, even tho all turned off? Thermostat etc? The games room has no working fruit machines, but pool table saved us. The hot tub was full of dirty sand and dirt, unused by us as was put off. The tables in garden are rickety not safe to use. The tv in main bedroom has wires hanging out and no remote control, unuseable. The whole place needs a deep clean. Fixing up and new items need to be bought. Was told by owner that the TV etc would be sorted, but never saw him again. I give this place 3 out of 10...for the pool table, especially as we went and bought proper Blue chalk. It's a luvly spacious place full of quirky bits, luv the piano, bathrooms are really nice.
Claire
Absolutely loved our stay here. Yes the property could do with a better clean around the edges but it's an amazing place. On a lovely quiet road and close to beach. Kids and dog loved the space. Garden is a good size and totally enclosed so very safe. Will definitely book again.
Stephen
Amazing location down the quiet area of Skegness. Lovely property loads of space. The house it self has been dived into 3 different holiday let's perfect for big family's wanting holidays together. Beach Access either end of the street
Rebecca
This house was so much fun! Theres a nice hot tub, a games room, comfortable beds and tons to do. You can see from the moment you drive in, there has been a lot of effort, thought, and time put into the place to provide a comfortable and fun experience for everyone. The kids loved it, the adults did, even our dogs were in heaven. It was so nice to enjoy the hot tub and not worry about our crazy patterdale terrier being out of sight. The only thing I would suggest would be to specify that you need to bring 50 pence coins to play pool and the arcade games. We didnt realise that until we arrived. All in all, everyone wants to come back and stay there again, so it was a total success!
