The Pinfold Reviews

Michael
This is an excellent property to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was immaculately clean, very well appointed and comfortable, and we greatly appreciated the many thoughtful and welcoming gestures provided for our arrival. In addition, its location close to the pub is very convenient. We highly recommend it on all counts.
Fabulous house, very comfortable with everything you need. Loved the little courtyard. We didnt use the hot tub as we were there during the heatwave. The pub next door is great, the food was lovely and the staff very welcoming. One night they had live music outside and we listened to it from the comfort of the courtyard at the house. Louise sent a message before our stay with everything we needed to know. We loved it so much, we have already booked again.
Davina
Had a fabulous stay at this beautiful cottage, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend to others and would love to stay again in the future. Louise our host was in contact as and when needed and was most accommodating
Josephine
Very well equipped and comfortable and in lovely village.
Jacqueline
Comfortable and enjoyable stay. Quiet location with nice, quiet pub a couple of doors away. Lots of places to visit within easy driving distance. Would recommend.
Charlie
Lovely cottage and great break.
Joanne
The Pinfold never fails to deliver! We visit several times a year and would visit every month if we could! Immaculate as always, brilliant location to explore Rutland and surrounding area, great pub next door just perfect.
Hannah
Exactly as the pictures look, great place. Very clean, well equipped, good communication from owner prior to visit we didnt need to contact them whilst there as no issues arose. Hottub is great, very clean. Looks exposed but with bush planter and fencing is quite private when in it. Surrounding area is so gorgeous, but if you want to travel from the village id advise needing a car, as minimalno public transport. We were happy enough that we are going to return to this property when we can! Thank you.
Michelle
Beautiful property. Owners have made a great cottage and with the little extras they leave to help your stay run smoothly, we would highly recommend. There is a great pub a few doors down serving amazing food, and a few minutes up the road, the caf at The Windmill was great for breakfast both dog friendly. We will definitely be back!
Cosy luxury at this comfy and contemporary cottage. Perfect Christmas break. Loved the decorations! Our second holiday at The Pinfold and certainly won't be our last!
Perfect weekend. The property had everything you could need, it was clean and comfortable and everything had been thought of. We will definitely be returning!
Very warm welcome before arriving with helpful instructions and house warm and inviting when we arrived on a wet Friday evening. Everywhere was clean, and comfortable, lovely little touches and good facilities allround. Ensuite shower could do with a handle as a little awkward to shuffle out of without slipping and the bidet to be honest was not neededstops you utilising the window sill to store bits. But thats not a negative! Just my opinion. All in all a great little place for a weekend away, or longer. We didn't use the hot tub but looked a fun one. Local pub food was amazing, I can see why its so popular with the locals. We really enjoyed our stay at The Pinfold and would return!
Samantha
Our stay at The Pinfold was absolutely perfect. Before we arrived, our host sent clear and helpful instructions, making checkin and getting settled a breeze. The cottage itself was spotless, beautifully presented, and had everything we could possibly need. We were delighted to find a charming, quiet country pub right next door. They were so friendly and even kindly gave us some ice to take back when we realised wed forgotten to buy some. The kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances, and the hot tub was a real highlight. We spent a blissful Saturday afternoon relaxing there. When I accidentally left my coat behind, our wonderful host went above and beyond by posting it back to me at no cost. We couldnt have asked for a better stay and wouldnt hesitate to book The Pinfold again.
Georgina
We usually book accommodation on a site but decided to try something different and we are so glad we did! The communication from the owner leading up to our stay was really valued and reassuring. The Pinfold was like a home from home and we were very grateful for the unexpected little extras upon arrival such as a pint of milk. Our daughter also loved the selection of board games! The accommodation was very clean and had every thing we needed. We had a great 7 day stay and enjoyed exploring the area, before coming back and enjoying the wonderful hot tub! Would definitely recommend The Pinfold!
Beautiful property in a stunning part of the country. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Great communication with the owner too. Would highly recommend .
Joanne
One of our favourite return to holiday lets. Cannot recommend The Pinfold enough, everything from locationfacilitiescleanliness is 5 Star. Plenty of places to visit RutlandOakham and lovely quaint villages in between but a special mention must go to The Berkeley Arms which is literally 10m away. Food is amazing and the Staff are so welcoming.
Michelle
What a lovely little gem. clean, facilities brilliant, not one issue at all during our 7 day stay, local pub friendly and the food is amazing, lots of rural country side and activities to be seen , Rutland water, Wymondham windmill and Belvoir castle to name a few, The Olive Branch is a must for food
Nicola
Lovely few nights stay. Cottage was really homely and clean. Hot tub lovely and the pub next door does great food
Jasmin
Such a lovely air bnb. The welcome pack was amazing and the place was spotless. The communication from the host was super. We would love to come back again.
The cottage was absolutely stunning. We came for belated 60th birthday celebrations and we had the best time! We left a little feedback in the brown book, but honestly would come here again!
Patricia
The cottage was absolutely amazing and the hot tub was fabulous, the pub made us very welcome which was next door. All in all, we had a great time and hopefully we will be back. If you're thinking of staying at the pinfold you won't be disappointed! Our doggy cavapooTeddy had a fabulous time!
Michelle
Lovely cottage, right next to pub with lovely meals and really nice friendly ... Lovely cottage, right next to pub with lovely meals and really nice friendly people, hot tub nice although only used for half hour as weather not good, nice place round corner, windmill, with a few interesting shops
Lovely little cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay and good location. Coat hooks would have been helpful if we had had a lot of wet weather. The pre arrival instructions for everything were very clear except for the hot tub dosing measurements. Even though the rental was for upto 5 people, the sofa area could only accommodate 3 people.
We had the most wonderful stay at The Pinfold in Wymondham last weekend! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The cottage is beautifully presented, cosy, characterful and super clean. The location is perfect being tucked away in a peaceful spot, yet just a short walk from the shops and cafe at Wymondham Windmill and directly next to a charming pub. There were some great local walks too and its only a short drive from Rutland Water. Our two dogs were also in heaven! The secure patio gave them space to sniff and relax, and we really appreciated how dogfriendly the property was without sacrificing any of the style or comfort. Its rare to find a place that welcomes dogs so warmly while still feeling like a luxury escape. Highly, highly recommend The Pinfold for anyone looking for a relaxing, dogfriendly getaway with bags of charm.
A very nice property. However we would not recommend the sitting are for four people, as you need another chair to be comfortable. Three pans are provided, which is fine, but one lid is missing . Also, frying pans now need replacing . However, many good aspects, excellent lighting, quiet, good bathrooms , near good pub, very good for visiting lots of interesting places. Enjoyed our stay.
Keith Roger
This was our third time at The Pinfold, and we are hoping for a fourth. We cannot praise the cottage enough. We cannot give Sykes the same praise. We understand that this is not Sykess fault, but down to idiots in the government who forced Brexit on the UK and with the introduction of the ETA seem hellbent on destroying the British tourist industry, at least for tourists coming from the EU. Why dont companies like Sykes inform the government of the damage that has been done and is continuing to be done?
What a gem of a place, this lovely little cottage was immaculately presented and had absoloutely everything we could have needed. Everything was thought about even items for our furbabies. A lovely welcome tray with a bottle of fizzy elderflower cordial and dog treats on arrival was a lovely treat, so nice and so thoughtful. The hot tub was a welcome addition to the property ane we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Pinfold and surrounding area. Thank You.
Tracey
An absolute gem of a place. The Pinfold offered us everything that we needed. Beautifully clean throughout. A well equipped kitchen. In fact, the whole cottage was incredibly well equipped. The hot tub was ready to step in to. Close to the pub that also does food, and close to a windmill where you can eat cake and drink coffee and wander amongst quaint little shops. A friendly gesture by the host to celebrate our 60th birthdays. We will definitely go back, just need to sort a date and well be there!! Thank you for a fabulous weekend away xx
Lovely cottage nicely presented. Beds very comfy. Hot tub was lots of fun. Patio is small but quite adequate. Included hot drinks plus milk, but please note distance to shops so you are best to arrive with some food of your own. Nice pub next door but one food was great but best to book at busy times. Well located to reach various attractions. Worth a visit to Wymondham Windmill only 10 mins walk up the road but note mostly no footpath which has some nice craft shops, tearoom, bar, woodland walk, etc. Good dog walking areas too tho we didn't have one.
Very nice property all we could ask for will definitely return again when coming to the area again
Claire
A lovely place to stay in a rural village with a great pub on the doorstep. The accommodation is comfortable and clean, the listing is accurate and there are lots of places to visit on your doorstep.
Rebecca

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at the Pinfold. The accommodation was very clean & comfortable & the village was lovely & quiet, with plenty of areas to walk & explore the local history. The Berkeley Arms 2 doors down was definitely worth a visit, in fact we ended up dining there 3 times, the food & hospitality was so good & Rutland water is literally on your doorstep for some amazing walks.
Barbara

Geoffrey
Lovely little cottage, warm and comfortable. Deceivingly spacious. Very nice pub just next door, perfect for Sunday lunch.
Such a great find. The Pinfold was a lovely place for a weekend stay for a family wedding at The Mill just up the road. The Berkeley Arms was a wonderful pub just next door. I would recommend booking as they get very busy. Very impressed with the help from the owners and the little touches inside the property. The little village is very pretty. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Beautiful well equipped cottage in a delightful part of the country
Jacqueline
