Trawsnant Cottage Reviews

Beautiful residence with Beautiful surroundings. First impressions were how clean the owner keeps the place. Trawsnant provides the perfect escape for those looking for a quiet countryside location that is a close drive to the Seaside, New Quay and all that the other local beauty spots have to offer. A particular highlight is watching the squirrels come up to the lounge window & gaze in at you. The Hot Tub is a real treat as are the balcony upstairs & the stream you can walk down to for some peaceful thoughts to yourself. There is a bench to sit on by the water. We will be booking this place again. Thank you Phillippa & Mark for a great stay. Best wishes Gill, Dylan & Becky Foxley.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage and the owners were lovely and attentive, they made us welcome and provided a few essential. The property is very pretty but does need a little updating however the grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed our stay.
We had a lovely week away at this cottage and everything about it was amazing. It is very remote and quiet and so nice to relax either sitting out the front for breakfast or out the back in the evening. If you love the sunshine and we had a great few hot days there then this cottage is great for sitting outside but also lots of shade too if you prefer that. There is a lovely walk through the grounds and down to a little stream and wooded area. We didn't have a dog but I can see why a dog lover would enjoy this cottage and area to explore but it's also lovely for a romantic walk or just exercise. The hottub is so good and lovely to relax in either morning or evening. The owners keep it maintained every day and it's the cleanest we have been in and has a covering roof over so no worries about rain or leaves blowing in. The cottage has everything you need. We loved to relax and watch TV, read a book on the seated window or play games on the main table. The cooking facilities were excellent and we never dined out once although we had planned to. The bedroom upstairs was really nice with a very comfortable bed and there's an extra twin bedroom too which we didn't need but used for storing suitcases and other items. The owners Phillippa and Mark are really lovely people and have great humour and knowledge of the area and we enjoyed our chats but they're also not intrusive but are at hand if needed. They have lovely obedient dogs and cats and they were happy to see us but didnt stay long. Overall we had a great time here and can't pick any negatives but we will definitely be back again soon. The weather was lovely and warm so we didn't need to use the log fire but I'm sure it would be even more amazing in the colder months with that and the hottub for use. If you want peace, quiet, romantic time or somewhere to take dogs and relax for a week then this place ticks all the boxes. The nearest big shop is about a half hour drive away so stock up before you arrive or it is a nice scenic drive out. The coastlines are beautiful and remote with areas for easy parking and we saw quite a few seals when we went for cliff top walks. Great week away and thank you again Phillippa and Mark for your hospitality and treats you left out. Hopefully see you again by end of the year.
Christopher
Cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Watching the birds on the feeder from the window seat was a particular treat. An excellent base for exploring the West Wales coastline. Hosts had many helpful recommendations for days out and local information. Many thanks
What can we say excellent across the board, lovely cottage, wonderful owners Philppa & Mark, lovely and clean and everything you needed . Super dog friendly Mya had a great time with owners dogs Bailey & Casper . We had the best holiday Thankyou we will be back
A lovely property in a beautiful setting. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. We were very comfortable and had such a relaxing break, loved the hot tub. Lots to do within the area, some wonderful walks and lots of wildlife. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
A lovely place for a restful holiday.
Heather
A lovely stay in this peaceful cottage, owners and their pets were friendly and welcoming. Although the owners home and a second holiday let property are on the same grounds, the layout and planting mean the cottage feels quiet and private. Extended grounds are fab to explore and hot tub and wildlife are great. Cottage was spotlessly clean with lovely welcome pack on arrival. Lots to do in the area, would recommend.
A lovely place for a restful holiday.
Mark & Philippa the owners were friendly and helpful, the two dogs Bailey and Casper were very friendly as well. The cottage was clean and well equipped and has a mezzanine bedroom above the lounge area which was spacious and did get warm during the day. The location us a fantastic haven for wildlife and watch, woodpeckers, blue tits and other birds come to the feeder, plus the occasional squirrel! The cottage is down a narrow road so you may need to back up if you meet another vehicle, that only happened to us once though. The cottage is handy for New Quay and Aberareon, Cardigan and Aberystwyth are also within easy driving distance. The hot tub is welcome addition great to relax in at the end of the day. We loved our stay at Trawsnant Cottage and would stay there again if in the area in future.
Rebecca
Lovely cottage, very quiet and in beautiful surroundings with lots of trees. Bird feeder to watch the woodpeckers and other birdswildlife Owners friendly and helpful, enjoyed meeting their dogs and cats too Cottage was clean and well equipped, hot tub was spotless and regularly maintained. Beds were comfortable Lovely beaches nearby Enjoyable and relaxing week
Michael
A lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful and very peaceful location. The owners Mark & Philippa were very warm & welcoming but also respectful of our privacy. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The extensive shared grounds are a fantastic haven for wildlife and we spend hours just watching the comings & goings on the bird feeder. Although Trawsnant Cottage is in a very quiet rural location there is a shop & an excellent pub within a few minutes drive. The town of New Quay is also within easy reach.
A delightful place to stay. The cottage has everything that you need to make your stay enjoyable. The hot tub was immaculate and well maintained. Beautiful surroundings, close to beaches and places to visit. The owners were helpful and keen to ensure that you had a nice time.
My daughter and myself visited this wonderful barn conversion for our first time, and it won't be our last! ! Beautifully presented property and the hot tub was wonderful after long days spent walking with our dog who also had a great time. Tranquil, peaceful and relaxing in every way. A great location to visit New Quay and other stunning beaches along the coastline. Our hosts were very friendly and we're always available if we required which we didn't, as every aspect was great. We will definitely visit again, and hopefully bring 7 days of sunshine with us again. Wonderful
Christopher
The property is delightful. An excellent conversion from its previous agricultural use. Very relaxing place to spend time escaping from building work at home. The owners are friendly and discreet and take their responsibilities seriously and were quick to respond to our limited requests. Particularly liked the proximity of the natural world, peace and quiet, and Oh yes! The hot tub!
Heather
A lovely place to stay. Well equipped, clean and comfortable.
Michael
Great hospitality. The hot hot tub was clean and fresh, checked every day. Had to contend with storm but, did not affect stay. Only difficul6was finding the place on the first night after a severe storm on the dark. I would suggest better directions without having to log into the app. Perhaps a Google pin being sent to navigate to. Otherwise great.
Great stay at this lovely cottage. Owners extremely friendly and great advice of walks in the area. Dog loved his walks and relaxing in front of log burner. Hot tub fantastic and clean. Thanks for a great week. Lorna & Duncan
We had a wonderful week at Trawsnant Cottage. Our hosts were kind, friendly and approachable. They offered lots of travel and touristy tips and recommended lovely beaches and walks. The cottage was exceptionally clean and cosy with everything we could need. The hot tub was excellent and used daily by us all. The grounds of the cottage were very well maintained and beautiful we loved watching the woodpeckers and squirrels in particular. Thank you for a fabulous week.
Super cottage with hot tub and wonderful garden and surroundings. So peaceful and relaxing. So many places to walk our dog. Very close to the coast and beautiful beaches. Very helpful owners and booking from the start was very easy. Would highly recommend.
We stayed here for a week while walking the beautiful Ceredigion coast path. It was a treat to relax in the hot tub at the end of each day. Comfortable cottage and helpful, friendly owners.
We loved our cottage, and we will be to be more visits to come. All the details are wonderful in the kitchen. The garden is just what we need for relaxing, birds singing, bird feeder right in the window. Of course the hot tub is always lovely in the later at evening. If I could like a livingroom in our house, this cottage would have happy my life. One of the best cottage we have been here. Our dog was happy getting walks right out the door. Superb, comfortable, and cleaning, and relaxing. Thank you Philippa and Mark
A wonderful little cottage in beautifully kept grounds. Peaceful location and perfect for walking. The adjacent secure field was a godsend for our two energetic dogs, who ran around to their hearts content. Our stay was superb, and we went home feeling very relaxed probably due to being in the hot tub every night Philippa and Mark, the owners couldn't do enough for us and we can't wait to go back
Was lovely location and great cottage with nice owners
Lauren
Phillipa and Mark were great hosts. It was our first time in Wales and they were so friendly and helpful with recommendations. The cottage is clean, warm and has everything you need. The private hot tub is lovely and so are the surrounding gardens. The cottage is close to many beautiful beaches and there is so much to explore around there. We found a folder full of information about the local area and recommendations which was extremely helpful. We will definitely be booking again!
Beautiful home, attention to detail and cleanliness second to none including firewood, kindling, firefighter and matches! Thank you
Gordon
It is about 4 years since we were last at Trawsnant. Philippa and Mark as always could not have been more helpful. On this occasion, we stayed in the older of the two cottages. Unfortunately the weather was not very kind and we could not use the hot tub as the roof above it was leaking. We used the two single beds on the ground floor because at 84 years of age I did not feel safe climbing the stairs to the main bedroom. Regrettably, the single beds had seen better days and the owners, in my view, need to consider replacing the mattresses
Beautiful location near to many lovely places. Thanks for a good stay
Stephen
Whole family enjoyed there stay at this lovely cottage, owners where very freindly and very helpfull, can't fault the cottage in anyway, has everything you would need for a comfortable break and the added bonus of a very clean hot tub.
We had a most relaxed & enjoyable time at the cottage very peaceful and lovely gardens. Our dog was welcomed by owners dogs, who were very friendly. Would definitely consider returning here.
Christine

Lovely cottage. Great location. Excellent facilities. Very clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Teresa
I have to say we had the most wonderful holiday at Trawsnant. Plenty of home comforts, immaculate property and very friendly owners. Phillipa is very knowledgeable and clearly cares about her property. It's about 10 mins from New Quay. When you book its a good idea follow the directions given by the owners, it will take you right to the door. We will be back!!
Such a lovely week at Trawsnant, our hosts couldnt have been nicer the cottage is in a beautiful location, comfy , spacious , spotlessly clean without feeling like you couldnt make yourself at home and so so tranquil. We had everything we could need there including games, books and local guides. The hot tub was fantastic and such a treat and well maintained too. Lovely walks on site and beaches nearby with plenty and wildlife fauna and flora. Definitely a place to return to .. thanks so much.
Beautiful property, amazing place to relax and unwind particularly whilst watching the birds on the feeder outside the main window. Everything you could want in the property including a wealth of information. Add to this Philippa's vast knowledge of the area and you can't go wrong. Obvious the owners deeply care about their guests with the care they take over their property. With the only noise you hear apart from the odd tractor going past is cows and sheep you can't get more peaceful than that. A good central base for exploring. Philippa and Mark made us feel so welcome along with their gorgeous dogs who kindly put up with our hesitant dog, although I did have our dog and the puppy playing chase around the living room whilst I was trying to clean on the last day
Joanne
Trawsnant Cottage is a wonderful barn conversion. 2 of us stayed, there was plenty of room. Very clean and the hot tub was the cleanest I have ever seen. Kitchen and sofas have been updated since the photos were taken. Everything provided for in the kitchen to cook a meal. Lots of information in the cottage about the area and where to visit. Plus DVDs and books. Lovely setting. Very quiet and private. The owners were extremely helpful and provided lots of information when we arrived about both the cottage and the area. Would definitely stay again.
Kelsey
