Monarfon Reviews

We have just came back from a lovely weekend away for my sons birthday the house was amazing plenty of room for 8 adults and a baby and there was still a spare room with 3 single beds, it was very big so everyone could chill in one of the rooms, there was a games room with a pool table which was brilliant, it has a big garden which we all loved in the sunshine , it had everything you would need and we would highly recommend it. . the living room is huge so plenty of room for us all to watch England win which was a bonus haha .
Lovely house Well equipped Relaxing weekend had by all More than enough room ... Lovely house Well equipped Relaxing weekend had by all More than enough room for all 12 of us Inc 8 children of all ages
Wonderful weekend spent at this property . All 8 of us loved it . Hottub for the ladies and pool table for the lads which we all enjoyed . All beds were comfortable . X 3 en suite and main bedroom has large bathroom opposite . We didnt use the room with single beds . Well stocked kitchen , it has everything you need and loads of room for eating at kitchen table . Beautiful coastal walk nearby . No issues with communication from owner , can contact them via text as all info sent prior to date of arrival . Thank you .
We had a thoroughly enjoyable week at Monarfon, 8 adults, five children and one small dog. It was well situated to explore different places. The house is very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Plenty of crockery and cooking implements but the fridge freezer situation needs attention as it isn't big enough. The hot tub wasn't as clean as we expected, especially with all the warnings we had about it. .A net would be handy to scoop flies and leaves from the water. The outside area was great for us with plenty of outdoor furniture. The bed in the master bedroom could do with attention as it dips down due to broken slats. All the bathrooms were great and the additional downstairs toilet was very handy. The dining area was great for family get togethers. It wouldn't take much to make this a perfect 5 venue. We would recommend Monarfon to families thinking of renting this property.
Oven didnt work gas hob broke been reported in the book three times before we got there automated answers spoilt the holiday cancelled the next holiday disgusted.

Difficulties contacting Sykes when I raised a query which couldn't be resolved through the chat. When finally managed to obtain owners email took 11 days for a response and I had to chase them up. Monarfon has a lot of positives hot tub, playroom, large family kitchen, enclosed garden, parking, very clean, bedrooms with ensuites apart from 2 which were located by family bathroom. Negatives which could easily be resolved internet very patchy, cooker trips off frequently when being used 7 times one day, broken garden furniture, utensil draw in kitchen stiff, beds poor quality mattresses but linen really clean, water pooling by bedroom door in downstairs ensuite. Lots of these issues have been mentioned before in breakagesfaults book so basic maintenance seems to be an issue.
Angela
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL HOUSE. VERY WARMING AND COMFORTABLE, LOTS OF GAMES FOR KIDS, HOT TUB WAS A LUXURY AND VERY RELAXING. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOUSE TO ANYONE.

We had a wonderful stay at Monarfon with two families, teenage girls, younger boys and a grandparent. The house was the perfect size, with plenty of space for everyone to have their own rooms and bathrooms and for a bit of remote working on our laptops! but also lots of areas to come together. The playroom was a real bonus for the kids with a range of toys and games for them to play and the TV, and the hot tub was a favourite across the generations. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with highquality finishes and spacious rooms. Having so many ensuites felt like a real luxury, and the extra drinks fridge was very handy, so the comments wed seen about fridge size werent an issue at all. The large, secure garden was great for the dogs, and the ample parking made things easy for a bigger group. Monarfon is also in a fantastic location for exploring Anglesey, we found it a brilliant base for days out. Altogether, it exceeded our expectations it is exactly like the photos!, it is a beautiful house that worked perfectly for a multigenerational family break. Well be back.
Denise
Lovely, spacious property that was perfect for our family of 6 adults, 5 children and a baby. Although the weather wasnt great we managed to get in the hot tub. The children enjoyed the toys in the conservatory. It was a short drive away from a beach.
The property was perfect for what we needed. The size for four families worked well. The decor was beautiful. The property would benefit from some TLC in the garden. New furniture is required. We will hopefully revisit. Thank you
Rebecca
I have mixed feelings with this house, its big has the room needed for a family holiday, good decor, modern bathrooms, great garden for 2 dogs and children and the hot tub was great. My issues were, a few of the mattresses need replacing , one even turns up at the end, it was not good for someone who had just had back surgery, luckily we had a spare room they could change to. The garden furniture needs replacing, some of it is unusable, we had amazing weather and it was a real shame we couldnt get the best out of the garden. The cleaning standards could have been better, we had mouthwash stain on our ensuite floor, didnt look like it had been mopped before our stay. We did have a great holiday,
Dominic
The property is very well presented and was spotlessly clean on arrival. As it was Xmas, the staff had put up a xmas tree and decorations in every room which was really nice. The host was always quick to respond to queries and whilst we were short of a couple of towels for the number of guests, they came round same day to give us more. A couple of things to improve on would be the size of the fridge as it is far too small for a 13 person house. Its just an ordinary 600mm wide fridge freezer. And the kitchen could be better equipped with more cutlery and scissors. But all said, we had a great time and it was a fantastic venue for a family Xmas.

I booked Monarfon for a reunion for myself, 4 schools friends and 1 baby. We wanted to be near the sea, but mostly we wanted a nice, big, warm house to catch up in. We ended up having the most fabulous weekend! The living spaces are stylish and relaxing, the bedrooms are spacious & comfortable, and the hot tub is heaven! The kitchen has every pan and utensil you could possibly need and we enjoyed many communal meals there. Sue, the owner, was so kind and accommodating and did everything in her power to make sure we had a great time which we did! I am planning on returning with my family and can heartily recommend
A lovely property in which to share fun times and memories with the family and in a great location for exploring Anglesey. Lots of space and beautifully furnished. Great kitchen and dining area. Everything you might need is available. Highly recommend.
Kathryn
Lovely place to stay for our family gathering. Lots of space. Great response to a couple of queries. Only comment would be the fridge was a little small for the size of property we were only 8 not a full house and it was very full. Excellent stay in a lovely area. Thankyou
We had a lovely stay. The property was spacious and fulfilled all our needs. The kitchen had everything you could need, the beds where comfy and the playroom was a gods send for our granddaughter.
The property is generally in good order with all services, showers and toilets in good order some general maintenance is required as expected in what I believe is a popular rental property. From one FM to another keep up the good work. On arrival we found two of the quilt covers gave off an odour possibly due to a lack of airing or not the best storage prior to use. I suggest any damaged items such as the two external basket type squares be disposed of. Your clients shaft driven pump should be stored out of view and the old railway bench repaired or again stored out of view. My other observation was the step down into the side washing line area, the step down being directly onto a cast iron manhole cover These covers can dramatically fail and I suggest a small step be constructed or a 3x2 flag be placed over the cover to address the possible H&S issue. My family and I had a very enjoyable week in an imposing well appointed property. Many thanks.
Beautiful house everything a family needs and great location to explore Anglesey
Virginia
We loved our stay at Monarfon. Beautiful stylish decor. Fab hot tub. Lovely bed linen and comfy beds. Friendly checkin and very understanding owners regarding some damage my dog did
Lovely property which suited a family of 6 adults, 3 children and dogs. Hot Tub was used a few times even though the weather was not the best but fun was had by all. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and the grandchildren loved the playroom. Property was in a central location for the places we explored.
Beautiful property with excellent facilities. Loved the little details, treats for the dogs and squirrel food.
The house was lovely and beautifully decorated. All the comforts of home. We were a multi generational family and it suited all our family needs. The location was great. In easy reach of beaches and attractions.
Lauren
A lovely house with incredible design. Very big and we really enjoyed the amount of energy suites. We couldn't use the hot tub for the first night as it wasn't heated in time so this could be an issue if you've booked with this in mind.
Matthew
A very enjoyable relaxing stay considering , we took 4 families with young children! The playroom was a hit with the kids providing a variety of different toys, plenty of space that we werent over crowded everyone enjoyed their stay!
Absolutely amazing property. I would definitely recommend this property. The host is fantastic. Thank you so much. Steve
Kathryn
Beautiful house with all the facilities you could need. Everything had been thought of and we all had a great time as a family from ages 7 to 70!
My minor quibbles would be there was no dressing table in our blue bedroom to put things so we borrowed the table from the landing and could also have done something in the bathroom as there was little room for toothbrushes etc. and no where to hang towels, this also applied to another bathroom and also downstairs bedroom could have done with a chest of drawers.
We have had a lovely stay in a nice house. We had 4 generations and a dog and there was plenty or room, plenty of toys for the children and a lovely outdoor space.
Patricia
We all had a lovely time, the house is beautiful plenty of room. Downstairs bedroom was ideal for my husband with limited mobility. The grandchildren enjoyed the playroom plenty of things for them to do. The dog enjoyed herself especially down on the rocks by the sea.
The house is lovely, the kitchen is fully stocked for home cooking and the decor and furniture all comfortable and gorgeous. There wasnt anything we needed extra than what was there. A definite gem of a property.
Sian Hauw
Beautiful house with more than plenty pet & child friendly settings. Throughout nicely decorated with all facilities available incl Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. Property is very clean and garden nicely maintained. We had a great family break!
Ashley
Came here for a family 60th. House was stunning, great location, the garden is a great sun trap and large enough for kids to run around. Had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend the property.
Antoinette
This property is not accessible for someone with limited mobility at all! !!!! The downstairs bedroom and ensuite bathroom is very small in comparison to the large roomy upstairs bedrooms.
This was such a beautiful house! ! We all had a great time here. All of the rooms were so lovely, comfy and relaxing. We felt very welcome. The kitchen is fantastic for large groups, we sat round the large table for hours playing games and catching up. All the kitchen facilities were spot on with everything provided you would ever need. Bedrooms again, lovely and spacious. I know my bed was very comfy! The house definitely made our holiday! The only constructive feedback I would give, the hot tub we couldnt use till the second day as it still wasnt warm enough. It didnt ruin our time but it would have been nice to have this useable on the first night. Thank you for providing such a lovely stay!
Judith
The property was exactly as advertised. Very roomy accommodation with excellent quality of towels, bedding etc. There was a problem with the fridge which we reported. The hot tub was fabulous and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The owner of the property was extremely helpful as my family organised various events for my 70th! I have no problem in recommending this property to others!
Beautiful, well equipped, comfortable home and a lovely garden with plenty of different seating areas and perfect for kids and dog. We had 4 generations staying and had everything we could possibly need. Only have one small suggestion, which is, the upstairs front bedroom would benefit from a mirror for hair drying mainly as the bathroom mirror is not usable for this purpose.
Valerie
A very clean and comfortable house for our family of 8 adults , teenager and 11 year old, plus Poppy the dog. Thank you. Monarfon is a home from home with beautiful and interesting decor and furnishings. The 1930s style house has been tastefully modernised, keeping some of the historic features. The central heating was warm and cosy. There was plenty of hot water for bathing and showers. We enjoyed use of the hot tub, even in the chilly April weather. The owner and local representative were very helpful for our queries. We would definitely recommend staying here and would hopefully return ourselves.
Lovely house, spotlessly clean, with everything you need the owner communication was great. Central place to explore the island Would certainly book again.
Absolutely beautiful family friendly home from home! The owner was so helpful! The thoughtful touches were everywhere in the house, and everyone had been thought of, from the adults and children, to the doggies as well! The weather wasnt the best but that didnt spoil our weekend at all, as the house was so cosy, and we played the games that were provided. We especially loved all the eco friendly thoughts, the beautiful hand wash etc, toiletries and cleaning products! Its worth a trip to bull bay and the beautiful Trecastell Hotel over looking the bay! Food was beautiful, lovely staff and the views were amazing! Wed just missed seeing the dolphins unfortunately. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
