Mariner's Watch Reviews

We had a lovely stay the place was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly located. Everything we needed was just a short walk away. Would happily stay again.
The property was really spacious and well equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean, the hottub was great. We were a group of 8 adults for a 40th celebration and had lots of room and fun. The location and views are great, perfect position to see all of Whitby and short walk to bars and shops. We had an small issue with a bedroom radiator thermostat which they resolved very quickly. Worth noting, the accommodation is part down a steep hill and everything needs to be carried to the property so anyone with mobilityhealth issues would really struggle. Would benefit from a little more cupboard space for food. Great space for large families and groups for a weekend break. Would highly recommend.
WOW what a beautiful property! !! Just returned after a week in Whitby Mariners Watch with our family 1017th April 2026 8 adults, 2 children an infant and including pets. Fantastic facilities, amazing 360 degrees view from every room. This was a perfect stay and really didnt want to leave, this beautiful property had everything at hand and was enjoyed by every member of our family. Kitchen equipped with absolutely everything you could need, large dining table to accommodate all guests including high chair for little one. Bifold doors overlooking Church Street amazing!! Living room beautiful with wood burner comfortable sofas and stand chairs complemented with views that cannot be beaten overlooking the harbour and to the right the 199 steps. Bathrooms x 3 one ensuite, all beautifully decorated modern clean and over the ground and first floor. Bedrooms all very modern and extremely comfortable, beds and linens amazingly luxurious. Washing machine and Tumble Dryer outside came in handy for doing a little laundry too. Hot tub was well used by all, perfect way to wind down after a busy day in Whitby and was much appreciated. We were blown away with this beautiful property that can be seen from everywhere in Whitby and will most definitely return again next year with the family. Note This does by no means have a negative impact on the property just would benefit from a maintenance visit to rectify. Ground floor door handles all very loose, kitchen door to living room doesnt catch the latch so doesnt close properly. Internal door in the kitchen to the back door had sustained some damage to the handle and surrounding timber, noted on our arrival and likely when the Bi fold kitchen door open as often caused this door to blow closed shut. Double oven second oven tripped out the power so only used the one easily rectified with trip switch Will for certain book this property again with NO hesitation such a perfect place to stay and very much in awe of the owners of this special property, just WOW thank you for our family stay at Mariners Watch we will come back. Myself and my family had a fabulous time at The Mariners Watch. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole house was spotlessly clean. It was spacious and very comfortable, and the views of Whitby are incredibl, the hot tub was well visited. We will definitely be back again. Thank you.
The property was excellent amazing 365 degree views of the whole of Whitby. The property was perfect for all ages, perfectly clean and had all the equipment we needed for a lovely family weekend together. The access to the property is very steep but there are plenty of warnings about it and wasnt a problem for us.
The cottage was outstanding with one tiny exception. On the side of the master suite double bed there is a padlock which is positioned in a spot which means that when swinging out of bed in the morning it is very easy to catch ones leg on the metal sharp surfaces. Ouch! Very small criticism of an otherwise outstanding accommodation.
It is a fabulous place to stay, views are amazing, could just do with a little attention to detail on cleaning.
We found the property wonderful and had a lovely time. Only thing I would mention is that there was only 1 tea towel not the easiest when catering for 10 people
Richard
We had an absolutely amazing weekend at Mariners Watch, with everything as described and actually better than expected in most cases. Being ultra critical, we did have problems with the front door key, where it wouldn't quite align and also, even after following the instructions on the hot tub wall, we couldn't get the temperature to increase. Neither of these affected our stay and I do feel like I'm clutching at straws a little!!! Hopefully will be back! Rich
The property is stunning. It really is special. From every window there is a picture postcard view. Breathtaking. The property had everything we could need, the kitchen well stocked and with good quality items. It was clean and well looked after. There were 9 of us and plenty of space.
It was brilliant. We had a wonderful time in such a stunning location. You were responsive to the hearing problem even before we were really aware of it.
Samantha
What a beautiful house. Everywhere we went in Whitby, look up and you could see the house. This was such a treat. The bank and those steps though, what a killer!!
Vanessa
Absolutely stunning place, amazing, excellent views from all around the house, very clean and fresh. Would highly recommend.
Myself and my friends had such a lovely weekend at Mariners Watch. The house is absolutely stunning! With high end furnishings and finishing touches which show a lot of thought and good taste has gone into making the house into a beautiful holiday home. The house had everything we could need and the views definitely made up for the steep hill we had to use to access it. Thank you, we will hopefully come back again another time.
