Lindsey's accommodation was lovely a high standard throughout. Even for a person in a wheelchair access was good. The separate utility room was fabulous. Lindsey was so approachable so if there was anything we needed she was there.

A haven in the middle of nowhere for us and the dogs. I have never stayed in a Sykes property that was so clean even up to the high beams not a cobweb in sight! Due to my wifes physical disability I had a lot of questions beforehand which Lindsey the owner was extremely helpful in answering and making our stay perfect. After 2 days we have rebooked for next year and our friends are coming in July. The layout of the cabin was perfect, location & views amazing. We booked a Tesco delivery before we came which was ideal. TIP get your milk before you arrive, the Coop in Knighton is interesting, its like a Tardis . There was some tea & coffee. I think we can all get used to welcome packs, I was happier on how clean the property was instead of freebies. Lots of cupboard space for groceries, and a good size fridge freezer. Shower pressure was good. Beds comfortable we like a firmer mattress, slept really well. If you book this cabin you wont be disappointed and Lindsey is so accommodating and helpful. What an absolute gem of a place to have found! It was our home away from home for the week it was so welcoming when we arrived, with some logs provided for the first night, a bottle of wine chilled in the fridge and a Christmas tree up as well. The hot tub was set at 40 degrees as well which we absolutely loved! I've never stayed somewhere where the hot tub stayed so warm, it was absolutely wonderful. Lindsey was incredibly helpful throughout our stay as well, providing instructions to help us find the cabin and checked to make sure we'd arrived safely, as well as answering any questions we had throughout the stay and even offering to help us get more wood for the log fire, we couldn't have asked for more and would love to stay again! Thank you for a memorable stay and the relaxing break we needed Lindsey.

We loved our week at Ploony Hill Cabin. Lindsey was available if we required anything. Really lovely setting amongst fields and sheep. Loved the log burner and hot tub. Great facilities to be self sufficient. We even had snow. We will be returning again.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Ploony Hill Cabin . Disappointed to see the furniture in the living room and outside area was not the same as the photos but it didnt ruin our stay .Photos need to be updated. The cabin was clean and tidy.The hot tub was fantastic, Lyndsey let us know before we arrived that it wouldnt be up to temperature until 9pm but this was not an issue to us as it proved it had been emptied and cleaned from the previous guests use .The views were absolutely breathtaking. If you want isolated and peaceful this is definitely the place to come . A beautiful area of Wales and Lyndsey was lovely.

Wonderful spot, total peace and tranquility. Along a mile gravel track but found this ok as drove slowly. Cabin had everything we needed, beds comfy, shower good, hot tub wonderful, views amazing, only noise was birds, next time we will take bird food, only thing was not aware unable to leave our dog in the cabin, so couldn't go out to the places we had planned to visit as our dog is reactive to other dogs. We ventured out to the really good Tesco's at Llandrindod Wells, hubby stayed in car with our dog. We stayed at the cabin, watched TV only basic channels but so enjoyed watching ITV3!! Ate nice food, sat outside and enjoyed the lovely view and the hot tub, left feeling totally relaxed and rested, cant wait to return

Stayed here 2 years ago and gave a 5 review, sadly the property has let it's standards slip. We had an issue with the hot tub from the first night not working properly, Lindsey was very good in immediately coming up to see us however it was not repaired for the duration of our holiday. Also the sofas in the lounge which were broken 2 years ago are now flaking badly and have been hidden with throws. The patio and around the hot tub has a number of loose and dangerous flags which need repairing. The front door step has a broken flag which was commented on before we came 2 years ago which has never been repaired. These are easy fixes to get the standard back to were you were and we look forward to coming back again.

Ploonyhill cabin is a fantastic place to relax and take in the surrounding countryside. Great enclosed garden for our dogs to explore without worry. Lyndsey is a great host and is always ready to provide any assistance if needed. Facilities are great but some are now needing a little maintenance. Will definitely return as we had a lovely time.

We had the most wonderful stay in the peaceful Ploony Hill cabin. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival, and the welcome packinstructions were clear. We were provided with some useful items such as toilet paper, soap, washing up liquid etc, which is often something I have to rush out for at other holiday properties if I've forgotten to bring them. The hot tub was amazing, with fantastic views, and sitting outside in the July sun was blissful. We brought 2 small dogs that had a lovely time, and due to the enclosed garden they were both safe under supervision. Both the kitchen and bathroom facilities were perfect and it was useful having a utility room too. We couldn't figure out the outside pizza oven but we had a fun pizza party inside instead. My little VW Up had a good test driving up the long gravel track to the property, it is a trek in a little car, but we managed. We took a trip down to Kington to use the Coop, which was great for groceries, and had a wander around the shops and cafes a quaint little town. We had a fantastic stay, would love to come back in the future, and have recommended to friends and family.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at Ploony Cabin with our two dogs. We loved the cabin, the location and the facilities. The kitchen was well equipped and everything easy to use. The views from the garden and hot tub were amazing. The location was quiet, the huge enclosed garden perfect for our dogs to roam safely. The bbq and pizza oven an added bonus. In a remote area which we wanted, plenty of places to go walking and not too far away from nearby villages if need to pick something up from the shop, visit a cafe or pub. Our only regret was not taking binoculars as there were lots of birds of prey and wildlife to spot. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I loved this cabin, a hot tub with a view and peace and quiet. The secure garden was perfect for my two dogs, made the break even more relaxing. Miss it already. Cabin was spotless, with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Hoping to book again. We would 100 recommend this cabin.

We had an amazing stay at Ploony Hill Cabin and really appreciated the remoteness. The fenced garden around the cabin was perfect to let our two dogs out to play and the cabin had all we needed, especially as we prefer to cook rather than go out to eat or order take away. The owner was just a text away should we have needed anything but otherwise left us alone to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. As our booking was over Christmas, we loved the Christmas tree, thank you for Lindsey for decorating the cabin! Overall, this was one of the best places we have stayed in and would thoroughly recommend it. The drive up is indeed long and uneven, but it's no problem if you drive slowly and the reward is true peacefulness with an amazing star filled sky on clear nights.

The cabin was lovely with all the facilities required for a comfortable stay. The only downside was the access to the cabin from Bleddfa was a mile drive along a narrow track full of potholes. It was really only suitable for a 4x4 vehicle. I would not recommend it for anyone with any mobility problems. Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Just perfect. Very peaceful, private and relaxing. The cabin has everything you need. We would definitely return. The enclosed garden is absolutely spot on for taking our dog as we could just let her out and not worry about her escaping. The hot tub is just the icing on the cake! Fantastic set up.

The location was fantastic and tranquil, the cabin itself was also fantastic, had everything we needed and was clean and tidy with a lovely warm hot tub waiting when we arrived. Lovely waking up to the sound of sheep and then going out exploring. We can't fault anything, the owners provided contact numbers if anything was needed and left us alone which I personally like rather than a knock on the door a few times which we have had in the past.. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend... Thank you to the owners for a pleasant relaxing week..

Beautiful cabin! We loved everything about the setting and the cabin its self. It had everything we needed, iron, washing machine, hair dryer, well equipped kitchen, towels, games and good WiFi. We used the log burner which made the evenings even more cozy. The outside space was securely enclosed for our dog which meant we could relax and our dog had plenty of space. The cabin was warm and clean and we loved the bottle of wine which was left for us along with some essentials such as milk, tea, laundry detergent and dishwasher tablets. Beds were comfy and the hot tub was lovely with nice views over the farm and fields. We enjoyed watching the sheep and the wildlife from the patio. The cabin was a perfect base for exploring The Elan Valley , some nice pubs close by for food too. Arrival Instructions were clear and we had details on who to contact if we needed any help. Very quiet, relaxing cabin. No light pollution. Fabulous views. Hot tub amazing. Was perfect to recharge your batteries. Track to property is fine if you go slow. Owners very friendly and helpful. Arrived to wine and chocolates. Fabulous short break.

We had a comfortable stay at ploony hill cabin. Lovely open plan living space. Some maintenance needed but didn't effect our stay. We hope to book again in the future.

We had a wonderfully relaxed and chilled 4 days at Ploony Cabin in October. Its well equipped and had everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable so a good night's sleep was easy and watching stars from the hot tub was amazing. The views are delightful and we had a few walks along the river which was quite high due to the recent heavy rainfall. We also enjoyed trips to the Elan Valley reservoir for a scenic walk and watched the Red kites being fed at Gigrin Farm about 30 mins away. Overall we would highly recommend this property for a comfortable stay and a great base to explore the mid Wales countryside. Lindsey the owner was on hand and provided great support and instructions on how to get there. We'll be back but next time in the summer so we can try the bbq and pizza oven and sit in the garden

What can I say about Ploony Hill Cabin. .. for a start, the photos simply do not do the accommodation justice! Lindsey contacted me a couple of days before our visit to confirm access details and was on hand if we needed anything. The accommodation was incredibly clean, very well equipped and generally perfect. One huge positive was the canopy over the hot tub. Even when it was chucking it down with rain, we were able to sit out and enjoy the view. It was so peaceful and was wonderful to wake up to such beautiful views. The only 2 things we noted and did mention this when we were leaving it would be nice to have a little shelf of sorts in the shower and then other is more a warning to other visitors than a comment the road leading to the cabin is rather tricky so make sure you're in suitable vehicle. Loved every minute there and will definitely be returning!!

Wow , secluded beautiful views from every window lovely hot tub good internet surprisingly Love it definitely coming again Only thing could make it better is a pint of milk and some tea bags etc. also maybe a footstool as the sofas dont recline I do like to put my feet up on holiday But loved it , dogs loved it had a fantastic holiday will be back

Ploony Hill cabin was in our opinion situated in the best location out of the properties available. It was right up on the hill with stunning open views. The property was beautiful with comfortable furnishings throughout. We had a great time here with use of the hot tub after long days out, which the kids absolutely took full advantage of. We used the barbecue and pizza oven which were great extras and sat out at night star gazing over a bottle of wine. We would definately visit here again and thankyou to lyndsay for a lovely welcoming stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Plooney hill cabin. It was everything and more that we had expected. It was very clean and well maintained. The views were excellent and most of all it was very quiet and tranquil which is what we were looking for. We cant praise it enough

Lovely accommodation in a terrific remote location, a wonderful retreat with amazing views to help unwind and recharge.

The setting is beautiful! Within a 200 acre farm with great views across the surrounding countryside. If you want to get away from it all, Ploony Hill Cabin offers a quiet idyllic retreat. We enjoyed the numerous short walks from the cabin with our two dogs. However, in my opinion the cabin itself is quite sterile. It is definitely clean, but offers the basic in comforts and I do feel its lacking in some touches that would enhance the feel of the cabin, such as additional home decorations. It is extremely sparse, without cushions on the couches or pictures on the walls etc. Maybe it is just me and the minimal interior would suit others. There was a DVD player, but no selection dvds offered. It was fortunate that we bring everything with us as there wasnt any tea, coffee or milk available when we arrived for that all important cuppa after travelling. I will also have to mention the NUMEROUS reminders for us to clean the cabin! Okay, a booking confirmation with a request for you to hoover and leave the cabin as you found it or will be charged was acceptable, but an information booklet, a laminated sheet AND a picture framed reminder within the cabin, as well as an email sent a day before the end of our stay, in my opinion again is definitely too much!

Well appointed cabin in a fairly remote location. Track to cabin definitely not to be attempted in a lowslung car! Wifi speed seemed to vary greatly depending on time of day but that there was any at all was amazing. A couple of small maintenance items need addressing broken slab on edge of path to front door and the rusty concrete mixer in the next paddock didnt add anything to the overall ambience but it is a farm so no big deal. Great to get away from it all with all the comforts of home and more.

Amazing stay, beautiful surroundings, very clean and was well equipped. Lindsey was helpful with any help needed. If anything could improve it would be the mattress it wasnt the most comfortable.

Amazing facilities and totally enclosed garden for our 2 german shephereds Axel and Skye. There are a few other holiday cottages on the site but no way near each other so you have complete privacy. Location is not too far away from shops, pubs but you need to drive. Cabin is warm and situated near beautiful walks. Lindsey is a wonderful host and left us a key to allow ourselves access on arrival. I would 100 recommend a stay you won't regret it.

Cannot fault the location or cleanliness of the cabin. Situated in a beautiful location overlooking the valley and the cabin was spotless inside. However we have stayed at several Sykes cottages and this is the first instance where the owner hasn't taken the opportunity to check whether everything is ok, had we settled in, needed anything etc. Not a huge issue as we just got on with things, but surely just out of courtesy maybe a short 'hello' text would have been nice, if the owner felt they might have been intruding if they came up to the property. Unfortunately during our stay a glass was broken in the dishwasher, and because my partner is very conscientious she left a small note and some money to replace the glass and there hasn't even been a thank you from the owner yet. An amazing holiday cottage for the location and cleanliness but sadly let down by the attitude of the owner which came across as a bit uncaring. Surprising as we read other reviews before booking and the owners were praised for being so helpful and friendly.
