Ralston Bothy Reviews

Fantastic location. Extremely quiet and relaxing, yet close to local amenities. Lots of great walking from the door. Absolutely loads to see and do, great places to eat, comfortable accommodation and a lovely host. Very highly recommended.
The first impression when we walked into the lounge was bigger than expected, had a lovely homely feel about the place. Exactly right for chilling out and relaxing. The two weeks we were there that is just what we did. Lovely and quiet, plenty of walks round about, Tara our German Shepherd loved it. The garden is ideal for any dog as it is completely enclosed. As with all holidays, they come to an end, we most certainly will have good memories to cherish from Ralston Bothy. Thank you. Carol Walton and David Peacocke

Great place will be back great for the dog to be able to run around the garden. Hot tub was great Will be back.
Bothy was great and LauraJayne a fantastic host. Sadly the wasps kept us out of the hot tub as much as wed have liked and also meant we couldnt just leave the patio door open for our dog to wander inout as he pleased. Absolutely nothing that our host could have done about this wasps have been in abundance all o er the year but it was unfortunate and meant we spent far more time inside than out.
Jennie
We must love this place it was our 5th stay. Its very comfortable very relaxing and Laura Jayne is a fantastic host. As soon as we get through the door we feel relaxed. The area is so good for walking, travelling, places to eat. The fruit farms are a bonus. Our dogs are so happy and settled in our happy place. Im sorry Laura Jayne but we will be back next year
Lorraine
Excellent stay
LauraJayne being the property owner is a very helpful lady. The bothy is in a great location for touring the area. Whilst we were there we already recommended it to others and are planning to book again.
Lovely cosy cottage with a good enclosed garden great for the dog. Great peaceful location, lots of places to visit nearby. Would particularly recommend the Den of Alyth our collie loved it and Glamis Castle. Our hostess Laura was very friendly and helpful.
Lovely cottage and in a lovely area. Would definitely go back
Excellent cottage in a beautiful location with lovely walks and cycles from the door. Secluded garden with hot tub and lots of wildlife.
Jennie
This was our 4th time at this Bothy, needless to say we absolutely love it. Laura JAYNE is a fantastic host. The Bothy is so comfortable and our little dogs absolutely love the garden and the area. We are back soon and are already counting the weeks
Leslie
The property was well located between a few big cities but well secluded for optimal relaxation. The owner was so lovely and we really appreciate her taking our booking at the last minute after our initial booking was cancelled. The whole property is delightful and rustic and the back garden and hot tub are absolutely wonderful, especially after a long day exploring. We were able to drive to all of the places we wanted to visit and it didn't feel like a chore making our way back to Ralston Bothy in the evening. Thank you for a lovely stay it was extremely relaxing and just what we needed!
We had a lovely stay at the Bothy. The host was very friendly. The hot tub after a stressful day was much needed. We will definitely stay again.
Howard
Fantastic little cottage suite a little dated but did not detract from a great stay. Hot tub was so relaxing after a days walking in the area. Bought some fat balls for the bird feeders and we had so many species, bullfinch robin all the tits woodpecker and a tree sparrow. Slow cooker is a great idea we put it on low on the way out and on return the meal was all ready, out favourite was pheasant Thai green curry. Thank you for a great week.
The Ralston Bothy is thoroughly thought out, LauraJayne has thought about every detail. The welcome loaf of bread from Flour was divine. The Bothy was exactly what we were looking for, a quiet, country, getaway. The nearby walks were super easy to access and having the large enclosed garden meant our dog Goose was very happy. It felt like a home away from home, the hot tub was a very welcome cherry on top!
Colin James
Excellent property. Ideally suited for our needs. Large enclosed garden for our big dog and allowed her to roam freely and safely. Hot tub was great after some long walks and loving the record player with some old classics to play! An awesome experience and we will definitely be back.
Charles
Another relaxing week at this lovely cosy well equipped cottage, the wood burner was especially appreciated, the enclosed garden is ideal for our 4 legged member of our family as is the hot tub for the adults. Excellent wooded walks just across the road with a railway walk for the more adventurous, some nice coffee shops in meigle a few miles away with the Ardler Tavern highly recommended for either lunch or evening meals but you will need to book, even in November it was very busy. Laura Jayne our host was on hand if required and extremely helpful.
Pauline
We had the best time, we loved the cottage it was so cosy and quiet the hot tub and fire were amazing. The information we were given about local attractions, pubs, restaurants, public transport were so welcomed. The host couldn't have been any more accommodating as we asked before our arrival if there was a plug next to the bed for husbands sleep machine, host provided an extension lead which was all ready for use when we arrived, the host contacted me after we had left saying a plug had been left behind it was from the sleep machine! The host parcelled it up and sent it back to us honestly couldn't have thanked her enough. Thank you LauraJayne for everything we will be back but promise we won't leave anything behind next time
A cosy hidden gem of a cottage in the perfect location to explore Perthshire, Angus and Aberdeen. Excellent private and secure garden for dogs and excellent owner offering help if needed. Gorgeous welcome pack and doggy bits too! The hot tub is a luxurious bonus. We will be back!
Larise
Our stay at the Bothy was wonderful, cosy and comforting with a lovely log burner and hot tub! Beautiful surroundings and garden, we enjoyed the homely touches such as puzzles books and record player! A real home from home. Located not far from some great attractions and lochs, we will definitely be back!
Robert
Great property in a lovely area. pleasant walks with evening sunsets through the woods close by. good base for
Generally very good some small issues eg towel rail in bathroom mattress could do with replacing and pillows very flat. The rest of the property is very good nice welcome pack much appreciated. The hot tub was fantastic !! We found eating out a bit of a problem you really have to book for the nearest place so we ate in most nights not a problem. We would return especially for the hot tub.
Michael
Lovely wee cottage with everything you need, quiet, peaceful private location and the hot tub was a extra bonus.
Kenneth

Deborah
You thought of everything. Perfect for dog lovers large enclosed garden and plenty of off lead walking!

We love this little hideaway. Its our home from home with a dishwasher and hot tub. Laura Jayne is the most lovely host and nothing is too much trouble for her. The welcome pack is amazing. This is our third visit and Im afraid we have already booked for next year. I think Laura Jayne may think we are stalking her
Charles
One of the best we have stayed in, location, facilities and comfort all top ... One of the best we have stayed in, location, facilities and comfort all top notch, lovely enclosed gardens with hot tub , this was our third visit which just says it all
Stephanie
We loved our stay at Ralston Bothy. The sweet cottage provided everything we needed but mainly peace and quiet, which we absolutely loved ! Our dog Ted loved the secure garden and we spent every evening in the hot tub relaxing after very long walks, enjoying wonderful views. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay !
Had a lovely couple of days. Had everything and more that we needed. Great secluded garden for the dog. Only thing I would suggest is maybe a couple of takeaway menusnumbers if anyone does deliver. Other than that it was fabulous. We will definitely recommend & return
Glynis
An excellent cottage, very comfortable and had every facility you could want. It even has a hot tub. Excellently positioned for touring the area.
I felt everything was perfect, if I had to mention anything it would be the temperature of the shower as it didn't seem to get as hot as I would have liked but I do tend to enjoy a hot shower.
Jennie
Our lovely little home home from home. Laura Jayne is a wonderful friendly host and nothing is too much for her. Rosie and Fleur love the garden and surrounding area. The hot tub is an absolute dream. Our second stay in the Bothy and we are booked for next year already. You need to book early to get in. That says a lot for this cottage. Its my happy place. Xx
Comfortable little cottage located in a very peaceful area. Hot tub a bonus. Lovely private garden, very safe if you have a dog. The owner LauraJane was lovely, unobtrusive but there if you needed anything. Directions to property need amending, told us to take A954 to Dundee and pass Belmont Arms, when actually it was the B954 and the pub is called The Junction. Will definitely stay there again if we are staying in that area.
Well equipped cottage with lovely garden. Hot tub was an added bonus! Location was great, nearby dog walks too. There are dogs in neighbouring cottages which did bark as we passed, no real issue but might be for very nervous dogs. Lovely rainfall shower, well stocked kitchen, and great decking area. Laura Jane introduced herself when she was in her garden and was lovely, checked all was OK. Bring bird food with you to stock the feeders and you'll enjoy watching them I should have prepared for this. Definately recommend this cottage
Charles
This was our second visit to this delightful bothy cottage and it did not disappoint, we visited last February and wanted to see the area in late summer, the bothy gardens were awash with wildflowers with fantastic wildlife, plenty secure areas for our doggie too, we even saw several deer in the woods across the road. As before this property is so comfortable for a very relaxing break and has everything you need truly a home from home, the hot tub of course is the icing on the cake
