Y Felin Reviews

Absolutely loved our stay here. 2 adults, 2 children and our dog. Beautiful cottage located on a quiet country lane. Hot tub and log burner make the cottage so cosy. Would definitely recommended a car to go out and about visiting places but could have easily stayed in the cottage all week. Great set up in kitchen with all you need to cook a meal. This cottage is far better than others we have stayed in where you generally find that the equipment is very basic. Would definitely recommended and will return without hesitation
The cottage was amazing clean and everything you wanted was available. The garden was completely enclosed .very quite area.we had a problem with the hot tub the owner was great came and sorted it out the next day.will book again as was what we needed .only 5 minutes away from tescos which was good. Close to lovely beaches

Booked a few weeks in advance so we were limited on availability but picked Y Felin as it looked great and stated it was only a few minutes walk from Cardigan. The first thing its not a few minutes walk from Cardigan. Its a good 20 minutes. Thats fine but the listing should be correct. The cottage is located down a very narrow lane but it is very quiet and has parking which is a premium in Cardigan. The cottage was very clean and we had a pleasant stay but there are a few maintenance issues that would make it much better. As others have mentioned theres information in the folder relating to Covid rules just remove it. The lights dont work outside the front door and the mattress in the double room is tired and worn. The other beds were lovely! The temperature on the hot tub seemed to be set too high. It stated not to use it if above 104df but it was set to 104. None of these were desperate, besides the mattress, but just little bits that hopefully will be rectified in the winter season. There was no welcome pack but Tesco is a 5 minute drive so it didnt matter. The only issues that future guests need to consider are the location it didnt bother us but its not really pop to the shop pub in a few minutes. And the third bedroom is not really suitable it has a full length glass door that opens straight into the living room space. It could be solved but just installing a blind you could pull down.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean, one of the cleanest Ive stayed in. Lovely cottage & we enjoyed using the hot tub. Near to Poppit Sands and other places too.
Y Felin was the perfect base for our family holiday with multiple generations ranging in age from 13 to 89 years old. It was clean, well equipped, comfortable beds, and located in a quiet countryside area on the edge of Cardigan. The owner was reactive and helpful to any queries we had. We would definitely stay there again.
Beverley
Our third visit to Y Felin and lovely to find it just as comfy, warm and welcoming as back in 2019. We had a fabulous week here with lovely weather. We enjoyed the hot tub after days out in New Quay great boat trip and walked into Cardigan on most days...such a lively friendly town with great shops and we loved sitting out at The Grosvenor. We hope to visit again!
We had a fantastic stay, cottage is well equipped, warm and welcoming and a home from home. Perfectly placed to get to many local attractions and easy access to Cardigan town centre. Will definitely recommend to family and hope to return. Thank you for a lovely stay
Rebecca
Really lovely cottage, great location and excellent facilities throughout. Lots of beautiful coastal walks with the dogs, enclosed and safe garden with beautiful views. Hot tub great to relax in after a long day walking, then perfect to relax by the fire! Highly recommend!
The cottage was beautiful, and tastefully decorated for Christmas. The wood burner was toasty, and a large dining table great for socialising. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. The hot tub was a real treat the weather was atrocious but we indulged anyway, bringing in the New Year in sleet and rain, and again on a brighter, frozen New years day. One of our highlights. We did need to pop out and buy loo roll immediately, and some welcoming coffee or tea would have been a great addition especially when staying for just a couple of nights those essentials are a nice touch. Great location with shops around the corner, beaches close by, and a country feel.
A lovely stay with the bonus of a hot tub. Would thoroughly recommend this property to others. Could not have asked for anything better in terms of what it provided. Perfect for the family with dogs. Lovely places to visit and eat at. Particular favorites were Poppit Sands and the Copper Pot. Thank you.
Hilary
Great cottage in quiet rural location. Good quality fixtures and fittings, listed as 6 bed, but I would say it sleeps 4 comfortably as 2 of beds are more day beds with no curtain or blind over glass door that leads to living room. Only 1 bathroom. Lovely hot tub and enclosed garden. Disappointed no welcome pack, after a 6 hour drive all we wanted was a cuppa but no milk so had to go to Tesco for milk. A few little issue's, TV remote didn't work, so limited viewing, no oven cloth, light bulb missing in bedroom, outdoor fairy lights didn't work and outside security light also not working. Fix these and it would be 5 star. Would recommend & hope to visit again
Lovely property would suggest a welome pack for new guests a few bits and pieces ... Lovely property would suggest a welome pack for new guests a few bits and pieces need sorting before next summer like fan in bedroom broken ,sofa could do with a clean bit all stuff that could be done at the end of the season did not detract from our stay still a great holiday
Denise
Y Felin is situated in a lovely quiet secluded location within a short distance to many beautiful beaches. After a day of exploring the many surrounding coastal towns, the property provides a wonderful base to return to, it has everything you need to ensure an enjoyable vacation. The hot tub is a perfect way to ensure a relaxing end to an adventurous day. Would definitely recommend! Denise & Terry.
Beautiful cottage in a great location for exploring the wonderful coastline of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Very comfortable and very well equipped, and the hot tub is a bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Y Felin.
Michael
The house was very clean and well equipped. Its in a very quiet location but within walking distance of the town centre.
Christopher
Cottage is very peaceful, clean and well furnished. Double bed a little soft but we are fussy. Splendidly dogproof garden. Instruction book should have first section on special covid requirements removed as some of it conflicts with current instructions, but not a problem. Useful maps and beach details included. Being rather unmechanical we gladly used the oven instructions, but perhaps dishwasher manual could be added we found it online. No books or games or welcome pack provided still perhaps covidcareful but we didn't need them. Didn't use the hot tub.
William
Beautiful place to stay. Close to town but not in town. Countryside site, with just a short walk or drive into town if desired. The cottage was quirky but really comfortable. We met the owner and she was very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.
Beautiful comfortable cottage with all the facilities you need. Very peaceful location but still within walking distance of supermarkets and town centre. Added bonus of hot tub and lovely garden area. The only very small issue we encountered was the information booklet needs updating, it still refers to Covid rules.
Stephen
Everything was excellent
Richard
We loved the cottage and the hot tub was a fantastic bonus. It was our first holiday in Wales since we moved to Wales a year ago. The only issue had was with the cottage information booklet. It needs to be updated as still contains conflicting information about COVID rules and the checking out process was not clear. The recycling info with regards to the bins and bin man dates did not agree with what was onsite.
Therese
On the whole a very comfortable cottage. The beds were very comfy. The facilities were good however, the toilet wouldnt flush properly and on 2 occasions it became blocked. The iron lead needs attention as it was showing bare wires. We did what the instructions asked us to do and put the bins and recycling out and it stayed out for a week. When the bins were collected they completely ignored ours and we couldnt not fit anymore rubbish in it. It was almost full when we arrived so maybe the owner needs to speak to the refuge collectors. Otherwise we had a very restful stay at this property.
After a 2 day family wedding nearby, it was just lovely to relax and chill at the cottage for the week. A lovely, clean and well equipped cottage. Hot tub was a bonus to take in the quiet and peacefulness with added wildlife noises day and night Bliss! Location is excellent to adventure out to the local shops and pubs of cardigan, llangrannog and Newquay child and dog friendly beaches with an added boat trip out to see the Dolphins and sea pups. A Big Thank you to the owner for sending back my toiletries bag.
Richard
Loved the cottage. Delivered more than promised. Facilities were great. Good shower and kitchen well equipped. Hot tub was great although it did suggest it needed a deep clean as there were certainly marks left on the sides after use which we had to clean. Toilet bowl clunks when sitting on it and definitely needs a new tap in the bathroom. But these were niggly issues which didnt detract from the overall experience.we thought it was great and the secure garden was a bonus for the dog..
Great location! !! Too many things not quite right. Wc takes much too long to fill up , bathroom sink needs unblocking . Jacuzzi not cleaned as it should be lots of oil on surface , scummy around the sides . BQ not fit for purpose. Key safe didnt work and no spare key. Door was open when we arrived?? No one to meet us or pop in and check if everything was ok . Patio doors not fit for purpose.
We had such a lovely stay. Beds were really comfortable, the lounge has plenty of seating and the TV us huge. My other half was happy! The hot tub was a great bonus. I thought we would barely use it, but ended up using it every day. Looking out across the open fields from the Hot Tub was actually a highlight of the whole place. We had to head back early for personal reasons, but we still squeezed in loads. We saw Dolphins at New Quay, ate at the local Pizza Tipi, headed into Aberystwyth for a bit of retail therapy. Saw seals from the cliffs at the Cardigan Coastal Farm park. Hope to return one day!
Joanne
Lovely cottage, well maintained and ideally located. Very peaceful, lovely beaches nearby.
Lesley
Property was exactly how we expected it. It was spacious and had everything that we needed, the view from the garden was perfect and when you were sitting outside it felt as if we were a million miles from anywhere. We will look to book again next year.
Melanie

Excellent in every way. Would be difficult to find a fault. Very clean. Lovely comfortable beds. Plenty of space. Log burner was easy to use, clean and worked well. Hot tub was a bonus which also was easy to use. Car parking and access to rear good. We very much enjoyed the cottage, Cardigan town and the area and we will definitely book again

Lovely property, in ideal location. It was so quiet and peaceful, yet a short walk from supermarkets. Cardigan itself is only about 15 minutes walk. The property had everything we could possibly need including a very handy warm utility room for drying wet dog towels and a lovely hot tub, We didnt really want to come home.
Beautifully presented cottage in a lovely location, exceeded our expectations. Host contactable and helpful. Excellent facilities
Had a fabulous stay at y felin, quiet and private yet 5 mins from shops. Gorgeous place to explore and beautiful cottage to return too.
Lovely peaceful rural cottage with good facilities and pleasant decor. Very convenient for a supermarket and short drive to a dog friendly beach at Aberporth. Efficient hot tub and good sized secure ,secluded garden for the dog. The view from the garden was great for spotting birds and other wildlife.
Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, loved the open plan set up which meant we were all together much of the time. Supermarkets very near by. Ideally placed for exploring, many attractions within 35 miles but if youre not looking to travel the beaches nearby are gorgeous.
The holiday was fantastic, the property was amazing it had everything we could have wished for and more. The location was perfect nice and peiceful ,but within easy reach of everything.
