Netherraw Reviews

Ideal location for a get away from it all holiday. Exactly what we were looking for. We have a reactive dog and Netherraw cottage was was a blessing for her. Noone around for miles, meant she could come and go as she pleased and we weren't stressed to the max making sure she and others were safe. We would thoroughly recommend Netherraw without hesitation
We had an amazing week at Netherraw! The cottage was beautiful and cozy, well equipped and lots of useful information from the owners. The hot tub and log burner were amazing too! Would definitely book again.
Christine
We had a wonderful week at Netherraw. The cottage is located in a very quiet location, is spacious, cosy and well equipped. Checkin was quick and easy. Many of the traditional features have been retained, which means the rural, traditional feel has been preserved. it has a fenced in garden excellent for the dogs, and a hot tub. Only a short drive to Newcastleton and shops one being an excellent butcher!!
Geraldine
Loved our stay , great if you want a break from everything. Fab that its dog friendly too!
Location great, facilities great. The stairs are very difficult to negotiate without falling, but the kids managed. The Hot tub stopped working went into standby mode and couldnt get it back to normal... one of the main reasons we booked and we wanted to use it after running the kielder marathon. Overall lovely cottage, in a beautiful location, just a shame about the aforementioned hot tub.
An amazing property and location for us. We had a fantastic holiday as did our 2 pups. Plenty of space for us 2 adults and 2 dogs with a secure garden and use of field next to property. Everyone was super friendly in the village and the butchers is excellent. The stars at night from the hot tub were the icing on the cake along with views and access to to the river, walks and dipping into Kielder Forest. We didnt want to leave
We really enjoyed our stay with added benefits of the hot tub and the outside kennel. There were plenty of towels to go round and the beds were really comfortable.
Charlotte
It's a beautiful and calm location which provides a great base for exploring the Scottish borders. The house was very clean and had all the amenities we could ask for. The field was great for my dog as he could run off lead and my son loved the hot tub. It was wonderful to wake up to such lovely views every morning. We had a great stay and would definitely visit again.
Natasha
The cottage was exactly as described, incredibly comfortable, easy to find with description given and really well situated for all of the places we wanted to see.
Lovely cottage with everything you need. Hot tub is a good size and plenty of jets. It is very clean and well looked after. Great views of the hills Nd river
Amazing property in a beautiful peaceful location. Owner was easy to reach with any questions and the field attached was perfect for exercising our dog. We were very sad when it was time to leave but will defiantly be returning.
Absolutely amazing place! Beautiful house and gorgeous surroundings. So peaceful and relaxing, I could have stayed there forever.
A great property and just like the photos and listing. A lovely place for a family break.
Christopher
Lovely cottage great location. Cottage had everything you needed and more. Great time had by all
Tracey
The cottage was perfect for our family. Plenty of outside space for everyone and the dogs to enjoy. The only negative is the stairs to the two bedrooms are rather steep and narrow. We went for a long weekend which was just right for me as you are a drive away from local amenities. Dont forget mosquitoe candles and spray as they are everywhere this time of year!!!
Robert
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Netherraw cottage. Absolutely nothing to fault. The space was perfect and in the middle of the countryside with nothing but nature all around us where we also enjoyed a few walks. Inside the cottage was very homely with everything you could possibly need and very comfortable. The weather was also wonderful, but that just added to the experience where we spent most of the time out the back, eating, having a few relaxing drinks and spending time in the awesome hot tub out the back too! Thank you for making this lovely cottage a lovely experience for anyone who enjoys a nice escape to the country, which we most appreciated!
The pictures do not do this place justice as beautiful as the pictures are, it was truly amazing. With us on our week we had family from 3 different households and dogs and it had everything we needed. Everything was clean and in its place, the garden, hottub and field was perfect. The owners who I had to call twice during our stay because we actually wanted to extend our stay even when on her own break away was so helpful and kind and took the time to deal with us. I can not recommend this beautiful home and area enough. You will definitely be satisfied..
Loved it! Perfect place to relax after the stress of city, will be booking again very soon

Netherraw cottage is an outstanding property, the photos do not do it justice. Idyllic location with the only sounds of the birds and the sheep, simply perfect for a peaceful relaxing break. Great location for Kielder, walking and cycling. The owner goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. Our miniature schnauzer loved her stay too! Thank you. Highly recommend this property and would love to return again soon.

What an amazing property perfect tranquillity in the middle of nowhere.
A beautiful cottage. Very comfortable and we had a great week here. The hot tub was such a treat.
We had a lovely holiday at Netherraw. The cottage was well equipped and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. We all slept well, thanks in part to the cotton bed linen and soft, cosy pillows and duvets. Loved the hot tub! The cottage is well placed to explore the history of the Scottish borders, with many castles, stately homes and abbeys to visit.
What a fantastic holiday! ! Netherraw is a wonderful cottage, I really dont think the photos do it justice! Everything is top quality from the bed linen to the velvet sofas. We had such a relaxing time, our batteries are fully recharged. Newcastleton is a lovely little town with a great pub and cafes. Theres plenty of walks in the area and we saw plenty of red deer. Would highly recommend!
Amazing location. Managed to catch a sunny day so the hot tub looking into fields and wooodland is just an absolute treat. Comfiest bed ever. We had the best time and had everything we needed. We didnt realise that Hermitage Castle is only a couple of miles away so felt we had totally secured a gem of a stay! Would highly recommend and will be back if we visit the Borders again. Thank you
Rachael

Thank you for a wonderful stay we plan to return soon x
Elaine
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Netherraw, the cottage was first class. It was lovely to come back after a days walking to a warm comfortable cottage, especially when we had been walking in snow. The electric shower was fantastic a definite power shower and the wiif was great the speed was exceptional. Absolutely no complaints from us or the dogs who patiently sat in the garden waiting for something to come along the road which was not very often! A truly peaceful and tranquil area pass our thanks onto your cleaner as she does a brilliant job, the place was spotless.
Third stay. Always clean and tidy. Very friendly and communicative owner.
The property was amazing. So beautiful and rustic looking. Had a lovely getaway with a group of friends and definitely rebooking for next year. I would 100 recommend

What a beautiful, clean, warm, well laid out, spacious cottage, with excellent amenities. Very rural and perfect for a getaway from it all break. Lots of room, good WiFi, plenty of extras. Comfortable beds, fluffy towels and a great enclosed hot tub and garden. Perfect for families, children and dogs. Lots of lovely walks, plenty of places to visit, castles, museums and parks. Nearby shops cater for basic needs and lovely coffee.
Darren
Great place to stay for a quiet relaxing holiday. Great communication with owners. Will be looking to book again.
This is a unique and well equipped holiday home. We really enjoyed our stay in the Borders and would happily return to this property. We could not use the hot tub as it was broken, through no fault of the owner. Although disappointed, we were happy with how this was dealt with. We loved visiting the surrounding area and found everyone to be friendly and hospitable. We will book again.
We found Netherraw to be a clean and spacious cottage which stands alone four miles north of Newcastleton. The ideal place to get away from it all, or as a base to explore the attractions of the borders region.
Lovely and homely, well equipped. Fantastic location and outlook. Owners quick to respond to queries.
