Birch Cottage Reviews

We had a fantastic break at Birch Cottage. Firstly, the setting and views of the sea are spectacular from the lovely garden. Secondly, the cottage itself was stylish and very comfortable. The welcome pack was impressive. Ten out of ten.
From the moment we arrived we was welcomed by beautiful drive up to the property, upon entering we was greeted by the owner who was very welcoming and showed us around the property and an added bonus was the property was ready before check in time which after a 6 hour drive is just what you want to hear! We have a dog and can honestly say for a dog friendly property this was one of the best we have stayed in for high standards and finishing touches. The finish on this property has been very carefully thought through and kept in top condition. The welcome pack was again the best we have recieved and as i have stated we travel all over the UK and not always impressed with a bottle of milk as a welcome pack! This place is very secure for dogs all the way round the property and is in a quiet location and has many walks from the property. The bed was so comfortable ,we slept so well all week and was so chilled out its took some kick starting to go back to work so if your looking for high standards, dog friendly and a perfect break this is the place..... Thank you Nina & Mark
William
We loved our stay at Birch Cottage, Nina was really responsive in the build up to our stay, answering any questions we had which helped us be well prepared for our stay with 2 young children. We were positively surprised with the quality of welcome pack of snacks, food essentials, jams, teas, coffee, milk, orange juice and prosecco which set the tone for a great staycation throughout. The cottage is in a beautiful setting on the outskirts of Rye, and inside the cottage it's equally as lovely. The open plan kitchendinerliving, with modern and comfortable furniture, made for great socialising throughout our stay. The cottage was very clean and excellently appointed with all cookware, utensils etc. that we needed. Travelling with young children and 2 labradors, we felt details had been really well thought attended to. We were given a good quality baby crib and high chair, towels for the dogs and throws for the dogs to relax on the furniture whilst protecting it. It added that extra touch of comfort and ease for our stay, dogs and humans alike could settle in to Birch Cottage very quickly. The information book was also very detailed and it's clear that the owner has given time and thought into their recommendations for the local area. And to top it all off, we enjoyed the complimentary prosecco in the hot tub, watching a meteor shower in an extremely clear night sky, it was perfect!
Birch cottage really surpasses everything in the description, a fantastic welcome pack was provided in this fantastic holiday accomodation. The quality of the accomodation, the location, cleanliness and just everything about our holiday could not be bettered. Many thanks to our host for making Birch cottage available. We would give a 100 recomendation for anyone looking for a holiday near Rye on the South coast
A fantastic holiday cottage everthing top quality private with a lovely enclosed garden for our dog even a dog poo bin provided very impressed. Great welcome pack will certainly return thank you
A superbly equipped and comfortable cottage for our family if 4. An extremely generous welcome package on arrival bacon, milk, eggs, cereal, condiments, winelager. Lots of parking and privacy, easy to find. Great base to explore several local towns and east Sussex in general. Really no complaints. The hot tub is a luxurious and enjoyable feature, sky tv and coffee machine etc just mean you can really relax here. Large bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as functional open plan living space. Local amenities in Rye serve you well and the free parking at the nature reserve to explore the shingle beach is great for all and dog owners. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Elisabeth
We met the owner as we left. Just felt lighting in main room could be a bit brighter for reading and a full length mirror would be good.
Stephen
A beautiful cottage, with lovely views out over Rye to the sea. The cottage was equipped to a very high standard with a great welcome package.
A beautiful, well equipped and well appointed cottage. It is in a great location only minutes outside of Rye and close to many places of interest. A very comfortable stay for family and dog. Garden was well enclosed and the views were stunning. Plenty of outside seating and hot tub welcome after a days sightseeing. Very good welcome pack with lots of goodies. We would return gladly.
Birch Cottage is a lovely place to stay, very spacious, clean and wellequipped. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The welcome goodies were a bonus!
Lovely cottage with great welcome pack containing tasty treats. Comfy beds and enjoyed stargazing from the hot tub.

It would be difficult to find anything negative to say about this holiday property. It is unusual for a holiday property to fully meet our expectations, but this one does. Our dogs love it and so do we. Only very minor comments are that we could not find an egg whisk in the kitchen and the grass was a bit long.
Wonderful property. Felt instantly relaxed when we got there. Hosts fantastic and there if you needed. Comfortable and clean. Loved the hot tub. Property is in a fantastic location.
Robin George
We really liked this cottage, it is an excellent location and the garden is very secure for the dogs. The owner is friendly and helpful.
Steven
Such a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Property itself had a really lovely modern interior with all the facilities you could possibly need. We loved the hot tub too! We spent early mornings in the garden enjoying the stunning views. The owners kindly left us a lovely welcome pack of bread, eggs, bacon & lots of other goodies. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby. Rye is a lovely town & Camber sands is a great beach. We are National Trust members & found lots of lovely properties & gardens nearby to visit. We would definitely recommend Birch Cottage as the perfect place to stay whilst exploring this beautiful part of the country.
Beautiful cottage, everything we needed for our stay, great welcome pack on arriving, so peaceful, garden was perfect, plenty of outside seating, totally enclosed and safe for our dog, had a wonderful week.
Louise
Home from home property, no problems or issues. As always another good Sykes cottage
We found the property as per brochure. a very restful week was had by all in the party. we look forward to a return visit in the future. many thanks.
Trevor
We loved everything about Birch cottage and Rye area. The accommodation is first class, everything we needed plus goodies nibbles and drinks for our arrival which were lovely. Thank you. Lovely private garden overlooking fields and enjoyed the hot tub in the garden. Very dog friendly, dog safe garden and poo bin in garden which many places overlook. It was a heat wave, the week we were there, so the only minus was unable to have a window open at night as all were garden doors. With normal weather this is probably not an issue. Rye is lovely, nice walks in the area and we did several NT visits. Thank you again.
The whole family had a fantastic time at Birch Cottage , it was easy to find in great surroundings. The owners are very nice and did not bother us all week but on hand if there was a problem. The highlight of the week was the HOT TUB which was used every day. Back next year. Thanks
Anthony
The cottage was very nice but the outside area wasnt, the grass hadnt been cut, the patio area needed sweeping and the weeds down the side area were enormous. It didnt spoil our stay, but the outlook could have been better.
We had a lovely time at Birch Cottage. We were very comfortable and loved the high standard of the decor and beautiful view from garden. Bit disappointed not to be able to walk dogs without getting in car though.
The cottage was perfect. Everything you could possible want. Great hosts, brilliant location, warm comfortable and very welcoming. Even our dog felt at home! Fantastic views and a lovely hot tub to relax in.
We couldn't fault Birch Cottage it has a real wow factor for design and comfort and the views across to Camber Castle and Winchelsea Beach are stunning. The owners were so friendly and always on hand to answer any questions or help with suggestions of where best to walk our dog etc. We have already booked to go back next May so I guess that says it all!!
We had a great stay! ! Birch Cottage is a modern, organised and well equipped property with a lovely view hot tub was a treat even on cooler days! The garden was very dog safe for our little one! Lots of places to visit, and always nice and cosy to come back to in the evenings.
Excellent little cottage with superb views. Welcome pack was very much appreciated and sitting in the hot tub as the sun goes down looking out towards the sea was perfect.
We absolutely loved staying in Birch cottage, so much so that we booked our next stay before leaving! Everything was so user friendly for staying with our dogs, and genuinely welcoming for them too. Secure garden as described , in fact so secure and quiet my nervous dog relaxed for the first time ever away from home. The property is beautifully appointed throughout for a comfortable stay for us humans too. Lovely welcome pack, and the view from the hot tub is stunning.
An outstanding property, with more comforts than you would have at home. Near to Rye for shopping, walks nearby, and the seaside. We enjoyed the wonderful location and views from the garden, and sitting in the hot tub! The owner Nina, was very kind and was on hand for any info we may have wanted. I will definitely tell friends and hope to be down ourselves again in warmer weather.
Birch Cottage was one of the loveliest cottages we have stayed in and definitely the most dog friendly everything was perfect and even better than we thought it was going to be from the pictures and description. The location was very peaceful with a distant sea view from the garden and the interior of the cottage was very spacious, well designed and beautifully decorated, equipped with everything that we needed. All in all a very relaxing enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this property.
Very well presented and spacious accommodation. The owners have created a lovely place to stay with great attention to detail. Excellent bathrooms with large showers and baths. Modern open plan kitchendiningliving room with high ceilings giving a very spacious feel with lots of light. Extra nice touch was the food hamper on arrival with a bottle of wine and other goodies in the fridge!. The owners were very welcoming with some great advice on the local area.
The country house offers everything for a perfect holiday. The rooms are spacious and very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The equipment offers everything that is needed and much more. The beautiful garden with ist beautiful garden furnitures invites you to play and relax and from the whirlpool you have a wonderful view over the beautiful landscape to the sea. And the landlady is very welcoming and always available for questions about the apartment but also helpful if, for example, restaurant or excursion tips are needed. We have spent a wonderful family holiday at Birch Cottage.
