Cunsey Lodge Reviews

Angela
Lovely house, spotlessy clean. Had everything you could wish for on holiday. Quiet location but not far from shops. Had an issue with the hot water but was easy to get in touch with the staff and was dealt with quickly. The hot tub, BBQ and firepit were all a lovely addition. Would def stay again.
Lorraine
We had a wonderful weekend staying at this lovely house. From the moment we arrived it felt welcoming, warm and comfortable exactly what you want for a relaxing break with friends. The house was clean, cosy and very well looked after, and it made a perfect base for us to spend time together. Everything we needed was there and we immediately felt at home. It was a really enjoyable stay and we would happily come back again in the future. Highly recommended!
Cunsey Lodge is a beautiful property with outstanding surrounding, we loved the Forrest walks and wildlife that surrounds the property. On a negative note the property needs some TLC especially in the upstairs bathrooms, some of the light fitting have insects inside and havent been cleaned out, the bathroom fans dont work and some of the light fitting are hanging down, the grout and silicone could do with a touch up. The internal walls could do with a repaint as they are marked. On a positive note we loved our stay in the cottage we enjoyed the space and layout of the house and would definitely recommend it. The welcome pack and the logs were a lovely touch.
The house worked very well for a party of 8 adults. We liked the open plan design and the generous kitchen area which coped with all of us making breakfast at the same time. The views from the property are lovely and there are excellent walks from the door. A slight quibble is that the bathrooms could do with sealant renewing and woodwork thoroughout could do with deep cleaning, but overall this is a very good property generously kitted out for a large party.

This spacious property was perfect for our needs. We were a party of 3 couples which left a spare spacious twin bedroom plus ensuite, for 2 more guests. In fact we particularly liked the fact that every bedroom had the luxury of its own ensuite & good quality bedding & towels. The downstairs layout was great for entertaining in both the large kitchendining area as well as the comfortable living room area. All rooms were well presented with a touch of luxury including the beautiful locally made soapsshampoo etc made available throughout the property for guests to enjoy. We really appreciated the lovely welcome pack too! Beautiful location & fabulous walks.
Elizabeth
The property was ideal for our family gettogether to celebrate a special anniversary. Well equipped and catered for baby toddler and adults.
I have completed a complaint form which details our disappointment on the cleanliness of the property eg mould on a quilt, dirty highchair chair, dirty on doorways, stained carpets. Not what we expected when booking through Sykes.

We had a good time at Cunsey Lodge. The location is very nice, and we had a great view of Lake Windermere from the cottage. The property is also part of the Graythwaite estate, and it was lovely to go for a ramble within the estate. The property itself was very spacious, and the rooms were large and comfortable. On the downside, the property looked like it had not been properly cleaned. The dining table was very sticky, and the same with the kitchen floor as well. The sofas in the living room looked well used and sagged a bit and not very comfortable to sit on for more than a few minutes. Upstairs, the bedroom windows again needed cleaning, and there was quite a bit of bird droppings on the outside part of the window sills. But these were fairly minor issues and we had a generally good time during our stay.
Judith
We had a great stay at cunsey lodge. There are lovely views of lake windermere from most windows.and from the hot tub ! The house was spacious and well equipped and in a good location for touring and walking.
We loved almost all of the house. Upstairs was perfect as was the kitchen. We also loved the hot tub. My only suggestion would be that there wasnt enough seating in the lounge for 8 people. Disappointed with the communication with Sykes. Your key collection e mail was still wrong about the on site pool. I did however manage to get all the correct information from the lady at Greythwaite Estate who was extremely helpful.
Beautiful house, well positioned for a lovely stay in the Lakes, close to lots of amenities and country walks for the dogs. Kitchen well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay with the family.
An absolutely fantastic place with beautiful surroundings, so clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Our family had an amazing time, and the thoughtful touch of providing enough wood for both the fire and hot tub was truly appreciated. It made our weekend even more special! Highly recommend staying here.
Great place to stay with the family. We celebrated Christmas and my birthday with family a group of 7, including children. Lovely open plan accommodation and all bedrooms had an ensuite which was great. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of pans, roasting tins, plates and cutlery etc to cook and eat our Christmas dinner. Also loved the log burner. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Thank you
We had a wonderful weekend at Cunsey lodge. Very comfortable and clean and the house was lovely and warm from the minute we walked in. The log burning fire was the icing on the cake with a weekend of storms. Would highly recommend and would use again.
Second time we have stayed at this property. Great family house, especially with each bedroom having its own ensuite.
Alison
A spotlessly clean house , with excellent facilities ideal for a family gathering of 8 , views and walks from the door and use of a pool a short car ride or an hours walk away . The kitchen was very spacious and had everything with the exception of a potato peeler ! Maybe an air fryer would be an addition to such a high end property ? The hot tub was easy to fill and heat with the logs provided too . A superb property highly recommended
Cunsey Lodge is a lovely place to stay, is more spacious than the pictures show and in a picturesque location. The only comment I could make is the kitchen could do with a few more things, a frying pan, some smaller bowls for cookingserving and toilet roll holders in the bathrooms. Perhaps more details on finding the swimming pool! We would most definitely visit again and highly recommend it to friends and families who want to holiday together but have private roomsbathrooms. Thank you Braithwaite Estate
Was a fantastic experience for the whole family, in s stunning grounds. Will definitely return in the future
Cunsey lodge was a spacious accommodation in a great position on the edge of Lake Windermere. Louise the letting manager was kind enough to allow us early access which was extremely welcome. The only negative was the kitchen equipment needs looking at, not enough potspans, both corkscrews were of no use broken. I wouldnt hesitate to book again if these small but important tweaks were carried out.
