Trevena Lodge Reviews

Overall had a lovely stay at the lodge. The property is classed as dog friendly but is not ideal for dogs as there is only a small slabbed patio accessible to those staying in Trevena, the front lawn is for another cottage attached. The patio furniture was almost dangerous with a very broken plastic table and a small rattan table which the glass fell through. Also found it odd that the property manager had to enter through the property every day to see to the hot tub, despite there being a side gate to access the patio. Overall a lovely stay with fab weather
Jennifer
Really lovely place to stay! 3 generations of my family stayed and it met all of our needs. The kitchen is so well equipped way beyond expectations! Host Matt is great too! Thanks again
Perfect property for 4 families spending time together. Plenty of space, bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was so well equipped and the facilities were great. Although we didnt use them there was a washing machine and tumble dryer which is such an added bonus. There was a problem with a lighting the bathroom and the owner came over straight away to fix and sort it. We would definitely stay there again.

Matt was a superb host always available, the facilities at Trevena Lodge were first class & the information for local attractions & places to visit, directions, & keys collection information were great I would recommend Trevena Lodge to any large sensible group, there were 12 of us including 2 young children & 2 dogs and all were catered for very well We travelled all the way from Derby for a full week in September and will definitely be back. Thanks you Matt Regards Joe

Matt, the owner was extremely helpful on arrival. Helping us plan our week of activities. Property had everything we needed. Kids and adults all enjoyed our stay. Fantastic location and lovely host. 100 will recommend this place to friends and family. Will return here if we ever come back to Cornwall. Thanks you for letting your property to us
The property was lovely prefect for a big family with all the bathrooms had everything we needed in the kitchen. .added bonus with hot tub kid's loved it thank you
Excellent property and location , the family enjoyed the facilities especially the hot tub . Matt was in communication to ensure we had everything we needed.

We had a lovely week away. The house is very spacious, perfect for a large group and the many bathrooms and toilets does make it easier for a large group, so that everyone has their own space and facilities. Great kitchen, lots of games and advice for local places to visit. The hot tub was very much appreciated, although there was some delay on being able to use it at the start and mid week which some members of the party found frustrating. Great location and overall, a very good place to stay.
Elizabeth
The cottage was well equipped clean and comfortable. The only thing I missed was garden space. All in all it added to a fantastic holiday experience.
Clean, very spacious, and mostly comfortable but couple in bedroom 4 said matress badly needs replacing. Springs poked through painfully, so that two duvets had to be placed on matress to slightly eleviate. Bed comfort is really important and we have found this to be a very common problem in holiday lets. Maybe owners should try sleeping in their property beds occasionally? Even though heating not needed generally, grateful to be able to heat bathrooms mornings and evenings as these could be chilly. For the price of a new matress it could have been 5
Michelle
We really enjoyed our stay at trevena lodge it was suitable for the whole family. The views are stunning and Matt was very helpful and gave some good advise about where to visit.
Sandra
Myself and my daughter had stayed at this property many times before, when it used to be a guest house. So it really was a home from home to bring the extended family here now it is one large, self catering property. It was beautifully clean, comfortable and very well equipped, and is perfectly placed in magical Tintagel. We all had a wonderful holiday, and have already booked to return next year.
Well equipped, good location close to pubs and restaurants.
Lorraine
The property was in an excellent location within a short distance of all the amenities of Tintagel, plenty to explore locally by foot and many other destinations by car. The property itself was very comfortable and provided everything you needed for a great holiday with the added bonus of a large hot tub. The host Matt was very friendly and close by for any possible queries.
Deshani
We enjoyed our stay a lot. The lodge is very close to the Tintagel city. It is a really nice area and close to many attractions. Highly recommend this place.
Praful
We really enjoyed our stay at Trevenna Lodge in Tintagel. The house was clean and of a high standard and the owner was very helpful with everything we required. We made thorough use of the hot tub in the accomodation taking good soaks in it especially after the long walks. This is an excellent location to enjoy the coastal walks and also the local town pubs and eating places. We completed 3 excellent hikes around the area where we didn't have to get in the car at all.
Michael
We had a really comfortable stay. A quiet location at the end of a nothrough road, which is wonderfully equipped, tastefully presented and clean. Hot tub a real asset. Well equipped for large parties. Lots of useful information on site, maps etc about the locality. Cliff path starts just round the corner, with beaches at low tide 45 minutes walk either way. A good idea to work out implication of the tides straight away. A towel in the downstairs loo was all we can suggest by way of improvements. Matt very helpful.
Charles
Great host. Lovely location. Really good facilities
Absolutely lovely
Great family cottage. Plenty of bathrooms to cater for everyone. The kitchen is really well equipped with lots of fridge space & freezer.we had a shopping delivery for when we arrived which helped as only limited choices in local Spar. Lots of lovely pubs but couldnt get it for meals as fully booked but they also wouldnt take bookings for a large group but we bbq at the house so wasnt a problem. Matt was fantastic in sorting out any problems & was very friendly. We travelled out to beaches everyday & the children were always excited to go back to the holiday house & hot tub Would highly recommend this cottage for a family holiday .
Carole
Beautiful house, clean and fresh, even better than photos on website. Owner lives next door and available if required. Residential area and quint town within a few minutes walk.
The views from the room where amazing from the sun set to the church and the sea. the cottage was spacious clean and tidy with everything we needed. very friendly area, plenty to see and do.
Howard
We have just returned from the fabulous Trevena Lodge. What a great house for getting together with the family. Ages ranged from 8 months to 62 years! Plenty of room for us all to spread out and good comfortable areas for us all to be together. The kitchen is very well equipped and big enough to take several chefs and helpers! Great utility and storage room available as well as a games room. Two fridges and a freezer and an oven big enough to cater for us all. We loved the hot tub after a day at the beach or walking along the cliffs. Matt the owner was on hand to help with any problems but on this occasion there were none. Plenty of games, maps and books of local interest available in the house. A short walk into Tintagel where there are local shops and a great chippy!
Deirdre
The house was fantastic. A great location and all you need for a comfortable stay. The hottub was a great addition too. The owner, who lives next door, couldn't be more accommodating or welcoming a really nice man. Location really was perfect. Some nice coffee shops especially King Arthur's cafe. There are a few pubs to choose from some are more interesting than others but the Olde Malthouse was by far the best. Great holiday.
I had my 75th birthday here with hubby, two daughters, one soninlaw and five teenage grandchildren. The location is superb for surfing beaches a short drive away, King Arthurs castle ruins and amazing new bridge. Etc. The house exceeded our expectations in many ways but in a couple of others didnt. However the owner, who lives next door was always on hand to answer queries and more than ready to take on board our suggestions. We were only his second guests since he took it on and so was keen to hear any slight quibbles and to put them right for future guests. The info from Sykes about the house was a bit misleading with the Covid instructions. They said there would be no cushions on the sofas and that there would be no games, maps, books etc. All these things were there so we neednt have brought our own. It also states that there is a beach 200 metres away! No there isnt! The sea might be but not a useable beach. Also we assumed, wrongly, that as it is a big house it would have a reasonable size garden. So we brought a gazebo but there was nowhere to put it up. The outdoor space is tiny with the hot tub taking up half and a BBQ and two benches with small table the rest. So if you have a BBQ meal you really need a table and chairs to eat it at outside. The hot tub is a luxury but we felt a garden dining set would be more useful. Also there is nowhere outdoors to dry wet swimmers, towels or washing although an electric drier and clothes horse indoors is provided inside. A rack for wetsuits is outside the front with a hose which is handy. The house itself is very well appointed and tastefully decorated with no lack of seafaring themed ornaments and wall pictures. The kitchen fantastic for catering for large numbers and a very comfy lounge. All bathrooms are great with endless hot water for those after beach showers, even all going at once! The bed I was in did sag in the middle rather and gave me a backache for the first half an hour each morning but maybe my age had something to do with it. Matt the owner was so friendly and helpful that I dont want to upset him but felt that these comments might help those people thinking of booking up at Trevena Lodge. Oh and the view from sitting on the loo in my ensuite was the best I have ever experienced! We managed to avoid the crowds to avoid the Covid and altogether we had a super holiday and I had a memorable birthday!
Superb location for exploring this part of Cornwall House was perfect for an extended family holiday. Really felt like we had our own private hotel which I believe the house used to be All the rooms were very spacious and en suite bathrooms were modern. House was spotlessly clean. Hot tub was a great feature enjoyed by all of the family but especially the younger ones.
